OK long story short Family of 4, daughters 7 and 10. both well travelled, youngest done Florida 4 times so far. We love Florida, but have done Ibiza, New york for a few days and a few other places but nothing compared to the US. Now We have no idea where to go next year. Cancun sound lovely and all the reviews are great but wanted to ask if their was any other places no longer than 10 hour flight to go for a beachy holiday Reason for looking at Cancun is the beach, lots for the kids, lots to see and do. Any recommendations on places that a family with young kids will like Ok I know I asked about Cancun and why it's my first choice but I don't have a 2nd or 3rd idea yet and we will be booking something up next week
only 2 holidays i,ve had have been new york and la/vegas. liked the usa for language /my type of food and damn good exchange rate at the time. . anywhere california or maybe miami but guess thats similar to florida.
California would be for me a touring holiday, and we have Done Miami a few times. As I said Done Florida, top to bottom over the past 25 years was thinking a beach holiday. but also forgot to add it's going to be in Aug so not looking at Egypt due to the heat. So really looking at places that are not going to be 40 Plus in Aug
If its wholly a beach holiday? I couldn't recomend Goa enough. I'm returning again in March for my third visit. Of course I can't vouch for children's feeling on the place but for a relaxing beach holiday that going to cost pence in comparison, I'd certainly give it a thought. A word of warning and I shit you not, the sea and its surf is awesome, but in our past two visits we witnessed person lose their life, the under currents have a terrible reputation for sucking you under, and one lady was hit by a jelly fish and if it Weren't for the quick actions of the life guard it too would have ended in tears. There's things to do, other than the beach if you wish of course, you have markets day trips etc the same as you would expect in any other tourist area. The night market at Arpora is a must, you can eat cuisine from all four corners of the earth, and sit chilling with a few king fisher beers listening to up and coming bands, whilst being able browse around hundreds of stalls, a lot of British hippies are still here when they missed the plane back from the 60's and 70's. If you check out my videos on FB you'll see me washing an Indian elephant "I'm the less grey one" Tbh the market comes to you, we stay at the osbourne resort Calungute it's a 15minute walk to the beach, once there there is a shack which will bring you drinks and food, so long as you use their sunbeds, which are a little dated but hey ho. The beach is a constant trickle of traders trying to sell there wares, there is nothing malicious about the Goans and they always have a smile and a laugh with you regardless of if your buying or not I could chat all night about it and the experiences I've come away with, but keep an eye out, as I'm hoping to do a thread next year, on my return. But if I can offer any other advice? Recomendations? I'll ping them across.

A few places to look at. The one thing we want to stay away from without sounding bad is the benidorm, kids running a muck, family's looking like they have been tattooed head to toe if you get me Doing the Florida thing a few times with your own villa, pool and being able to mix which who u want is always nice and would like that from the next holiday
Cancun would put me off on account of being full of 'mericuns but I'm sure it'd be a lovely place to visit if you're into that kind of thing What about Thailand?? Or New Zealand is an amazing place to visit if you can stomach the journey. Might be a bit much with young'uns. You'll have to excuse me but I'm not too au fait with the needs of bairns.
Rich flight limit is 10 hours. Both my girls (7 and 10) have done Florida but would not want to take them longer than a 10 hour flight
Yeah I thought maybe that might be the case. The flight time to New Zealand really means that you should be spending 3 or 4 weeks there.
There's some good deals to be had in the Caribbean if you look around, particularly the closer you get to September. Lots to see and do, great for kids, highly recommended.
Whilst Matt has this thread running I'll hijack it a little, MrsB tells me she would like to do the Disney land American style. Any hints tips etc for booking? I know it's a way off, looking at January 2014 well I've got a busy 2013 looking for a villa fly drive buy theme park tickets as and when any advice welcome folks. I thank you 14 nights btw
South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania. The advantage of these lot are the minimal time differences. It can make a massive difference to the feel of a holiday if the gang aren't worn out/ asleep for the first couple of days.

Care hire do yourself. carehire 3000 or similar. Again use the Dibb for offers. We booked direct via Dollar and cost us about £450 for a 7 seater car like a s max size ( just a bit bigger) book flights via a travel agent. loads to do and see, Discovery cove is expensive but well worth it. Do all the parks you can, and if you get 2-3 days go to Miami. Driver down about 240 miles again worth the drive. Stay in the art deco Hotels. and visit some of the keys Also worth going to the space center. loads to see and do. Just the tip of the iceberg, But as you can see why i love going to that area of the US, I love it as does the wife and kids
