I had a moment on the CRF last week..... Very unpleasant feeling.I must have gone sideways because i'm sure i could see the back wheel.Stayed up though.A bit off off road training goes a very long way.......:)

is not allowed to use race rain tires on the streets? i mean few pairs of used ones since its always wet around here especialy at winter will help a lot so the bike dont sleep that easy ...there frame is soft so is the rubber on them and it works even cold for normal use ...
had those for 3 months of greek winter they where amazing you could power wheely in a realy bad tarmac street in the middle of rain ;P

Glad to hear you are OK and the R&Gs did their job. Similar thing happened to me middle of last week, just pulled off with hardly any throttle and the rear stepped out, luckily caught it before it hit the deck, no ice but freaking cold.

Wondering if the BT015s are not very suitable when the weather get a bit nippy, might chop em in for BT023 or PR3s anyone have any thoughts on this?

Went out today on the Blade, gorgeous day - just went to Helmsley and back so only 30 miles. Cold but plenty of grip, just had to be cautious.

Still do get the odd good days in winter - although admittedly pretty rare!

Last year I went out on boxing day, blue sky, roads washed with the rain the day before and loved it.If its dry and 10 degrees I'm out playing.Lets hope the weather is good during the xmas hols. And if its warm enough I would even do a bike meet.Anyone up for one?

BT023 are top notch tyres - use them in all weathers.

My blade isn't coming out now until the salt on the roads has gone! You should see the state of my scooter it's covered in a thick layer of salt. It was blue and its now white! Still riding the scoot though....!(carefully)

Ditto, to all the above, for 4 years i rode to work and back all year round.... that was on a CBF600N, I now have a Fireblade 954 ! Not going to happen, mine is tucked away and will stay there until either spring or the rare days talked about come up and i can get out on a nice crisp day ..........but with no ice or salt. In my job i walk around the town and streets a lot, so yesterday i had a very good lesson in how the roads may look ok but they can be deadly.... lots of people slipping arese over tit with no sign of ice or anything else, best to just stay off the road when its like this.
