First we heard the roar and then they appeared right over head, two delta wing aircraft. Now I am not up on my military aircraft but they could have been Vulcans or maybe F16's. Huge with white undercarriage, unfortunately we couldn’t make out the markings as they where quite high up so could have been RAF or USAF as both have bases in the area. They circled round each other in opposite directions for a while before heading off into the distance. The sound was ear splitting. Very impressive whatever they were.

Yeah yeah I know. By the time I had run back in, found the camera, get it out the bag, took the lens cap off, turned it on, and focused - they had gone. Been looking at Google images and we recon they were Vulcans.

Well F16's are dinky and there's only one Vulcan flying in the world so...

It could be project Aurora coming back to haunt you mate.

Oh no don’t start that again. Well they defiantly weren’t dinky they were big noisy buggers.

Wouldn't be vulcans as previously said only 1 left flying and that's privately owned.

Well Typhoons are the only true deltas in the current RAF inventory. F15's, F16's and F18's all have delta plan wings but still have tails. F18's would probably only be USN or USMC so unlikely to be on a USAF base outside of display season. F22's possibly but unlikely. None of them are huge. The F15 is big for a fighter but not huge. Anyone of them can make your ears bleed mind.

B1's are swing wing so they look delta in swept configuration but then they wouldn't be maneuvering with them swept. They are big though.

The USN used to paint their undercarriage bays white but its all lo vis schemes now.

My ears nearly bleed most days from the sound of low flying planes. I live about 3 miles from Lakenheath and our bungalow is sometimes shaken by the low flying planes. Probably a plane spotters dream location............I just wish i had a ground to air missile.;)

I can give you the answers you need?
There are so many Repsol blades around East Anglia that normal police helicopters can't catch so they have fixed speed camera's to the nose of a Euro fighter, given that you have a black blade David don't be alarmed you just need to keep a look out for the conventional police heli-cam

Oh yes, my blade goes very very fast!! As long as there are no bend's in the road, and that's only because I don't like Using up the rubber on the chicken strip!

It might have been the chase planes David saw. They're quite distinctively different from the Repsol blades in plan form. I'm rubbish at drawing but they're more like this.

    In aspect.
