Well its that time of the year again and some may be looking forward to a nice xmas bonus for all that hard work put in over the last twelve months (Non for me ) but what are you expecting this year??
every year my work would get our hopes up then award the management with new cars and we would get the "no we didnt make enough over our two million profit target" speech. I now work for the NHS and I think the only bonus I am due is a job come jan lol.
Same old same old, management get there bonus for us working hard and we get the "your lucky to have a job" speech
I get all my sales commission for the whole year paid as a bonus at Christmas. I'd rather get it on a month by month basis but it is quite nice when we get to the festive season and I know I've got a lumper coming. Of course it entirely depends on how well I've done during the year. It could either be enough to buy a bike or some new tyre dust caps for the existing bike
I get the same Xmas bonus every year it never changes which is good as I always know what to expect, I thing I will spend my £2 canteen voucher on a bacon sarnie this year can't wait
I am currently being expected to genuflect in my bosses direction continually as he has told me not to come in on Christmas Eve. Of course he is only opening until 10:00 anyway and I average 45 hours a week on a 37 hour contract but let's not get too picky in this season of good cheer.
Should I not mention that I knock off on the 21st and don't come back in until the 2nd of January then?
we dont get a xmas bonus - ours are profit related on completion of each project so if your lucky to get one it's every 12-24 months. had 2 in 4.5 years, one ok one really good but tbh - by the time the tax man has had his half you kinda think if two years of busting your nutz is worth it!?! lol
No, you're safe Rich, that's how long I've got off too, now. We don't get bonuses as such. We used to get a quarterly bonus based on the sales figures but after a year or so of bad numbers and not getting it, it didn't come back when things picked up. Employees are stupid though and don't notice these things though, do they. I've never needed to be a bread head regarding salary and perks as J's remuneration package was always so good I never needed to stress myself unduly. But the times they are a changin' Jimbo, you're in the construction business. I thought you all fell in the pub midday on Xmas eve and didn't go back to work until it stopped raining...
Was lucky enough to have mine paid out last month after being told we might not get one this yea so was a nice surprise really !
indeed they are Ken - its now about 1st december start drinking and we finish about xmas eve then go home to our families untill way into the new year!
Having met/exceeded every target thrown my way over the last quarter (again) I should be in line for a handy quarterly bonus AND the Xmas bonus promised to my level...... what of that will actually materialise is anyone's guess as I suspect the board will play the "challenging times" card once more.
