Hey everyone finally got propper internet access again Ended up getting a blue and white gixer 750 from the cracking lads at Road and Racing in Hyde was sorted out very quick with all the bits I wanted on her so far done 220 Miles previous bike experience rs125 aprilia now in my bedroom haha gixer 600 k9 2011 fireblade 675 road bike 2010 675 Daytona Race bike (supersport) Norton 650ss RD350LC RD250LC and my dads k9 750 borrowed it for a bit My initial thoughts on her, Sublime Perfection the total package for the road 600 but with more go go juice revvy spins up extremely fast in comparison to my fireblade. Feels like an engine of a split personality stick it in 3rd and ride the wave of the torque smooth as silk or drop her into 2nd and rev her out. Just the sort of flexibility for British roads. Now then the sound, omfg amazing hair up on the back of your neck sort of noise haha makes u roll on and off just to listen to that animalistic raw of the airbox Tyres are pants though once you try picking the pace up controllable though can't wait to get some hotter tyres on her. Chassis wise First bike I've ever had where my light weight self doesn't get thrown clean out of the seat. Plush but firm just what you need. brakes pretty good could do with some different pads and probably braided lines eventually I'd like to stick a brembo rcs on there but plenty of stopping power for now. Lots of feedback of the forks. At first felt a little hesitant to turn in but now its a thought guided laser missile. Just needs the preload taking out a little and should be sweet as a nut. Really has that Suzuki feel that you have owned the bike for years like welcoming a old friend back after riding the other marques so happy to be back on a Suzuki the feel the sound the entire package that I have missed. In a nutshell feels like a 250 goes like a jeckel hyde 600 mixed with a mid 2000's 1000cc and the power delivery is creamy smooooooooth perfect for the roads Sublime oh and the looks do grow on you haha the light blue is stunning in the flesh got a few designs that I've come up with that I will most likley be going with when I get bored but the standard looks do look sweet. I'll stop rambling haha and onto some pictures. Hope you all enjoy, Tom update december well done just under 1000 miles backed the comp an rebound off about 1/4 of a turn all round feels spot on to where i like it bit of preload to come off then shes great, really soaks the bumps up and the front end feels mega critisisms only one can be a little bit send your foot dead vibey on very long journeys after the crazily smooth fireblade engine but it makes up for it in grintastic ness but found a set of rear sets cured that on my gixer 600 and on dads 750 k9 so thats for order later in the year but does add to the experience on shorter say 300 mile journeys
Very nice Tom, what happened to the blade after rebuild ? Always liked the idea of a 750 on the road, find the front a little fugly but like the rest of the bike a lot (sorry to be honest) You look very happy with it in the pics and that's the key
gonna paint it like this lads like the new one haha she rides better than she looks a big improvement on the k9 thats for sure work in progress haha want to finish the 250 an 350lc first though an the blade long long story haha
You got one of those rare blue and white ones? Top effort. Sorry. I have heard good things of those bikes. Especially suspension-wise they're supposed to be spot on for our roads.
haha actually for the l1/l2 blue is actually quite rare haha yup for me after all the different bikes I've owned/ still own still say one of my favs is the lc's though nothing comes close haha it really does offer a great package for british roads useable power in a light nimble chassis with none of the hesitancy to turn in of the k9's used to have to drag the k9 600 down an boss it the l1 just falls in like a 250 and the motor spins up insainly fast for a l4 motor hardest thing i had with the blade was the lag compared to the triples so the 750 is the perfect compromise for me between the two worth a play on a test ride thats for sure for the sound alone haha sounds like a bunch of angry bees screaming at everything haha propper roar to it
Well that just goes to show how much I know about GSXR's! By the way is that Wildlife Photographer the one that's shown at the Natural History Museum in London? Cos my son and I like to go to that one but I don't like how much they charge. And where did you photograph the deer? Do you ever take photos in Richmond Park?
Hi mate does amaze me how the l1 handles i was a bit skeptical when i was getting it that it'd be that much different to to k9 but just goes to show how much a few little changes make I think mainly its the weight savings they did that transform it and I've not even got rid of the cat on it yet god knows how epic it'd be with some carbon fibre wheels and if your of a shorter stature im 6'3 but a lady friend of mine of small stature loved how she could get her feet flat on the floor really are like a 250 in that respect k9 your sorta are on your tip toes no where near as bad as a 675 though yep thats the one was way way back in 07 i placed in it ticket prices on there I got to go free to all the media stuff in 07 haha was great like the baftas when the meal happened an that Exhibition and tickets - Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year few places up scotland and some in cheshire/ lancashire that are bitches to find them at haha not been down london mate for a long time was down at lewis leathers an the ace cafe' last time
I had a k6 gsxr 750 And it was a fantastic bike! Handled brilliantly, braked awesome and what an engine! Loved it but only kept it 4 months! What drove me insane was the finish, paint was too tin! Fairing fasteners not seating! Corrosion and no lacquer on the engine! Drove me nuts cos there was a new scratch on it everytime I looked at it. I couldn't live with it so I bought a 1000rr and feel complete now The 750 was probably a better more useable road bike though.
Hi, Nice review, just out of interest how do you find the seating and bar position compared to the newer blade, is is comfier to ride ??? Also how is the finish compared to the older Gixxer, its this element of the bike that bothers me as i ride all year..... i like the second set of pics you posted with the black frame, not too keen on the dark blue frame i really like a contrast, same way i love the silver framed Repsol to the black one. Nice bike though.
Hey Hudson Id say the finish doesnt seem that bad on the k9s the paint was quite thin on the tank which resulted in 2 small chips on my dads but the finish weather wise is awesome got drenched on lots of ocasions and long as you look after it 3 years on 0 corrosion anywhere bar needing a new chain on the k9. alot better than the k5 era I think but a darn sight easier to work on than the blades thats for sure I find it a little racey but comphy nice sporty position depends really as everyones body shape is different Im leggy so for me its spot on
