My work recently bought in some GoPro 3 cameras for inside the machines when machining the wheels for the bloodhound project, and fancy 1. I've had a look online and they really do look the biz. Does anyone own 1, and if so what are your thoughts on it and also what sort of price should I be looking to spend on 1. Also what accessories will I need to mount it onto the bike? I quite fancy having 1 for the Scotland trip next year.
I've heard that the hero3 black is fraught with probs Colin and has had a lot of recalls so I would suggest the hero 3 silver or just get a hero 2 you should get them cheap now, if you go for a 2 outdoor edition then you get all the brackets and stickies you need to mount it to the bike, all mounts can be had on fleabay if you need more
I have the Go pro HD 1 and it's worth it's weight in gold, If I did not have the 1 or 2 the 3 would be the only thing on my christmas list quality camera and well worth getting As for the bloodhound project, what does your company do? been following for years and see the first info a few years ago At the Haynes museum
We are making the wheels for the project Remal. 4 sets of runway wheels for testing and 4 sets of wheels for the full run. It's all impressive stuff. We had the bloodhound car in the factory for a couple of days. It looks fast even sitting still.
Colin we need pics on this if you are allowed and get a chance. would be very interested to see how they are making all the stuff etc...
No probs mate. Theres no big secret with any of the bloodhound project. We will be filming the wheels getting machined and I'm sure it will be going on the bloodhound website. If not I'll post it up before hand.
I have the hero2 and bought a hero3 silver a few weeks ago. Gave it back because it doesn't do anything my hero2 doesn't already. By the time you get the Wifi remote you're in hero black price, which comes with the Wifi remote included and is capable of higher resolution video. I've just ordered the black direct from GoPro, but may keep the hero2 as a backup.
I've got a go pro 2 and I don't see any reason to change it yet. It's an awesome camera and does exactly what I want.
I'll second that. Excellent quality, easy to use, looks awful but does the job and I'll be hanging on to my 2 HD for the foreseeable future (but file size does make it a bit hard to send movies to your mates at hi res)
I know you can link two go pro 2's together for 3D filming, I wonder if you can do it with a 2 & a 3? That could be interesting for a ride out.
Easy to use the go pro is so complicated! The quality is just as good. The remote control wrist mount is a cool feature.
Once you have set your gopro in the menu then its just one button on/off and one button record seemples
ehem .... http://1000rr.co.uk/pictures-videos/8068.htm Currently GoPro Hero 2 with a PolarFilter and an external mic
I ordered the GoPro 3 black edition which did not arrive yet. The GoPro 2 is excellent as well and the Motorcycle Edition comes with almost every mounting parts you need. I have the Drift HD ghost and it is awesome. Comes with Wifi remote and has an LCD screen to view your footage and check camera angles etc before committing to filming.
