Guess for the 'Lymm depart' need to decide on full day to Hawick or half day. Depends if people have full day off work Thursday and what time they want to arrive at the guest house.

In mid May itust be light till.21:00 but know many would want to arrive earlier and get dinner and a few beers locally

Perhaps we task Colin (In the name of research) to locate a good meet up pub for everyone to head to on the evening to meet up and get a bite to eat?

    Gee thanks Al. Lol

No seriously it shouldn't be a problem for me to take a tour down there to suss out a decent pub for you guys. I may actually do that tomorrow as a run out in the car with the girlfriend.

Any meet point needs to be really really easy to find, ideally with petrol so everyone can top up and leave with full tanks so we each have a 140 me range.

I'm up for the arriving earlier, bite to eat and a few beers, perhaps Jimbo, Dave V and Nutty Tart could give an idea of their traveling intentions nearer the time, and we could head East to meet them M1/A1 area or indeed they may veer North into our path so to speak?
All said, we have plenty of time to thrash that one out between us nearer the time.

    how many sleeps Barney?

We are about 4 hours from you guys, so a 6am punt could crash out most the miles to meet you guys for 10am, coffee, fill up then head north together to make a day of it for sensible early eve meet with the others at the hotel for bite and few beers?

That would get you Lymm services then Jimbo if you so wished to head north west? there are also lads on the East coast too, where if you guys consider the eastern side instead there are folk who would be more than willing to meet you along the way too? horses for courses i guesss, and as said there is plenty of time to thrash it out between us, i just think with the effort the folk from the south are making with 4hrs extra saddle time the least one or two of us could do is to meet up along the way!

He has all the digs apart from Hizzys sorted.

I think he is speaking to Al about that to see if he can get in. If not I'll see if I can find somewhere for him to stay near by while I'm down there tomorrow.

I'll be heading down to hizzy's today after I have a bite to eat.
Should take me roughly 2 hours to get there. I'll take some pics of the place and I'll find you guys a decent pub to go for a few beers on the Thursday night. I'll also check for a B&B for Stealth while I'm down there just incase he can't get into hizzy's.

Colin .Would it be possible to take down with you a Pulse Oxymeter today and get a reading .I am very concerned that the Boys and Girls from down south will suffer from over exposure of good clean air .It maybe that we have to park them up in Lymm to acclimatize to our conditions and then monitor them thoughout the run.

A good idea Mike. All that clean, fresh air up there, never been used before, of course, due to all the lungs up there being bunged up and raddled with dust from t'pits and t'chimneys and clotted with lint from t'mills. They only ever get to use a fraction of it before they start coughing up their Park Drives, bless 'em.

Been chatting with Garyb today and to save ourselves a good deal of time we've decided to come down to Lymm Services instead of Tickled Trout, this way once Jimbo et al arrives we'll all be setting off from the same place. If no-one has any objections I'd be more than happy to lead this leg of the journey up to Hawick. It's roughly the same route as myself and Alan took when we went up to Scotland for the day earlier this year. It takes in Devil's Bridge and Hartside Cafe, both excellent biker meets supplying the necessary refreshments. You guys from the North West will probably be familiar with most of the route but with one or two roads you've maybe never seen before. It's a mixture of good, fast roads with some almost single track roads with stunning scenery.
It's about 190 miles in total and takes four and a half hours to complete but with fuel, coffee and food stops we'll be looking at nearer six hours. We reckon a departure time from Lymm at 11 o'clock should get us there between 5 and 6 o'clock in the evening, this should also allow plenty of time for Jimbo to reach us and have a decent break as well at Lymm.
Not sure exactly where Stealth is coming from but I'll try to post a map of the route and arrange a meet point for him too.
I hope I'm not being too pushy but I do know the area very well and once we get to Scotland it's over to Colin's superior knowledge of his local roads.

I think that looks like a plan FB!!

11am departure suits our timescales perfectly, And after the punt up, I'd welcome some local knowledge and someone showing us some good roads from there.

    Thanks mate.

Ps don't you just love how a day after crimbo, the holiday thread comes alive ;)
