Yes, the wait is over, the votes are in, the frocks have been hired and Giv' and Gary have been stitched into them. It's time to announce the winner of the 1000rr.co.uk 2012 Numpty of the year!!!!!!!

A word from our chairman (well he spends his life sat on his arse).

    david awards.jpg

"Your Majesties, Administrators’, Honoured Forum Members and those guests lurking in the shadows.

On behalf of 1000rr.co.uk, I would like to welcome you to this year’s Numpty Prize Award Ceremony. I am sorry I cant be here to enjoy the moment with you but Kpone has kindly offered to post my pre recorded speech.

From the very beginning, the Numpty Awards has attracted significant international forum attention, probably because it was the first explicitly international forum award in the non intellectual, physically compromised category. In a year when the Olympic Games came to our shores. The Numpty Award has come to be perceived as a kind of stupidity Olympiad.

We have had many wonderful and varied entries this year but unfortunately we did not have room for each and everyone of you to become finalists, so the difficult task of selecting our top nominees fell to Mrs Freedom to don the proverbial blind fold and stick a drawing pin in the nominees tail.

    Our finalist nominations are:
IcarusGreen, Zeepony, Blaggers, Robinh73, Givover, Allblade and Only1Matrixxx

The results are in, so without further ado:

    In Third Place.

    A tie!

Defender of the Realm. The wooden heart of England. A hero. However, if he'd been born in another age, he'd have been looking for a spot on an Omaha Beach still covered with German towels on June 5th 1944. A man of whom even his sponsor, The Calendar Club, said "Numpty".

    IcarusGreen.

Shares the second loser's spot with..

This man, or rather big baby is renowned for his love of a bit of totty. But when it comes to the paranormal this big roughy toughy builder turned into a high speed runner even Usain Bolt would be concerned about facing. Come on up Givover. I would shake your hand mate but I don’t want to aggravate your wrists repetitive strain injury.

    In Second Place.

This great fellow has shown great courage in the face of certain and predictable adversity that has provided our members and guests with side splitting episodes of extreme numptyness. I give you Blaggers. Unfortunately, Blaggers could not be with us today as he was last seen at the end of October. One can only presume that whilst he may have been this years forum Numpty Award runner up, he has gone on to far greater things and no doubt we will be hearing more about him when this years Darwin Awards are announced.

But this year’s clear winner by a country mile.

The often used term ‘a country mile’ being significantly relevant to this years winning entry. This fellow gave us some unforgettable and wonderful coffee spitting, trouser wetting moments in the guise of the Double Decker munching Baron Von Grumble. Now the Baron is not known for his patience with our great capital city’s traffic whilst commuting to and from work or being satisfied with the disabled amenities provided by Westminster City Council. No, what he will be for ever famous for is, proving that a GSXR1000 is not the ideal motorcycle for green laning. A superb and gallant effort was made and thus securing this years winning entry. Let’s take a moment to once again enjoy our winner in action:

Your Majesties, Administrators’, Honoured Forum Members and guests, raise your glasses and take a drink (That means bottoms up Ash)
I give you the one, the only…… Zeepony. Come on Christopher, step up and collect your award fella.

So ladies and gentlemen this brings the 2012 1000rr.co.uk awards to a close and all that remains for me ‘Freedom of Choice’ to do, is to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Numptyfull new year. Cheers"

Thank you Freedom of Choice for that so, so speech. It now only remains for me to award Zeepony, this year's 1000rr.co.uk Numpty of the year with his trophy, "The Boris".

    the boris small.jpg

So a merry Christmas to all our Numpties, winners, nominees and, well let's be honest, all of you, you're all Numpties to us, just some of you are bigger than others. A prosperous new year and lets look forward to more in the months to come.

    XXXX

    Ken

You're all too kind but credit must go to David's original idea and his speech delivered in absentia, although he did bugger off to France before it became clear that there was going to be a tie for third so the tribute to Icarus' timekeeping is down to me, sorry Ic'.

I think it's bloody brilliant how the members here can show themselves up comfortable that the ensuing piss taking is neither personal or vindictive but just for the criac. It shows what some of us have been noticing for a while, that the format is still that of a forum but the spirit is more of a club.

Thanks Ken for putting this together in my absence and updating my pre recorded speech to take account of the late raleigh by Icarus. I for one have enjoyed this thread and if everyone is up for it, lets do it all again in 2013. I can’t wait to see what levels of stupidity we can stoop to with a full 12 months of numpty opportunities. So what do you think, shall I run it again?

Thank you, Thank You, Thank you one and all for all the support over this year of pain and misery, shared on the wonderful world of the inter-web forever. I doubt it is possible to get more haterz on one video than this, but i say to those haterz with this forum in mind...

    "F#ck it - its only a Gixxer"

Peace be with you all - im sure a CBR would have made it ;)
