Well I have crashed a few times wearing leathers, on all occasions they have suffered damage, [sometimes quite bad] but they did there job and saved my skin & Bones

I would never entertain wearing anything else, I just cant see how Jeans would give you the same protection, every time I see peeps wearing them I cringe

I also buy leathers that have armour fitted [knees/shoulders this has definaley saved me when I've thrown myself down the tarmac

Thinks the same . May be ok to nip to the shops in ,but in the real world my choice would be the leathers ,not sure if i would be happy or confident on a blast out with some like minded dudes in a pair of tough jeans (Yur call!)

+1 on the above, I think. I feel very exposed without my leathers (Nutty, Don't!), like being in a car without a seatbelt, I find I can't get comfortable. If I can't get comfortable I can't drive or ride as effectively. My leathers are like part of the bike and it's not right without them. Even my textiles feel awkward by comparison.

I use Draggin's, great in the winter as the kevlar keeps you warm, apparently they are good if you slide on tarmac for long distances, the kevlar keeps from going through to your skin but as others have said if your going on a long ride or hitting faster roads then leather is best. Having said that I wear jeans a lot, when I came off the Draggins didn't even get marked hardly, mind you I only doing 30mph or so.

Absolutely .. can't agree more ... Draggin's may slide well but they are thin compared to leather .. its gonna hurt more when you hit the ground

Last time I crashed (in 2010) I was in Nato DPM,s thin as a fag paper, also had a 850.00 rukka coat on, broke my shoulder into four bits one plate and seven screws later plus 6 weeks of running etc etc I was back on my re built bike...oh and forgot to say not a scratch on my legs....work that out?...lol

On a propper note im a leathers fan me, synths for warmth, leathers to slide..

Have 2 pairs of the Draggin combats and swear by them. Crashed in a pair in the wet at 60mph with my leg trapped underneath and although the jeans had ripped, the Kevlar remained intact and undamaged with only heavy bruising to my leg. Plus points is that they are very comfortable, warm and look great, you could argue wether leather is better than textile gear? It really is down to personal taste and anything is better than some tw@ts I have seen this summer in shorts !!!

I saw a guy the other day riding with pillion, he had flip flops on, how the hell do you change gear with them on let alone what would happen if you get your foot caught under the bike on a low side... wow

Yeah a guy blew by me and my brother in Corfu last year. He was on a 06 'Blade and was wearing flip flops, shorts, singlet and sunglasses. At least he had an open face helmet on and blasted past our hire car on not much more like a gravel track. It was his body but it made my genitals retreat into my body all the same.
