After my moment of madness the other day and thinking of trading the blade already I thought sod it whatever the weather I'm riding it to work today, woke up and it was raining but I still rode the blade in! Now she is a dirty bitch! Riding along and every time I twisted the throttle a big smile was on my face. Pulling onto an empty A40 at 6am I couldn't resist the full throttle and quick shifter action! (Staying within the speed limits) Can't believe I was thinking of selling it....... Ps It's bothering me that she's sitting in the garage a bit dirty, I think I have OCD!
Seriously though well done for getting out there, and finding the love in the blade again. Now go out there and rinse off that beast
I must be dreaming! One of you 1000RR polishers actually riding his bike in winter??? IT'S A FOOKIN MIRACLE !!!
I went out on my new blade for the first time 2 weeks ago, gave it a quick wipe down as it was dark and the following day couldn't believe the state it was in.... Looks 90% better now, but can't just leave it sat ther all winter
I got my girl dirty again today, just couldn't resist it. Two days in a row now, going for the hat trick as long as tomorrow is not too dire. Now I have warmer clothing I am enjoying my winter rides more, even when the roads are wet. Even managed to open her up a bit today, of course there were the usual Tw*ts who tried their best to knock me off. Seems to be becoming far too frequent lately. Twice I got pulled out on whilst cranked over on roundabouts and twice from side turnings, all in a 90 minute ride. Next mod has got to be a rocket launcher damn the expense. Glad you rode her Phantom, I have had a lot of bikes but the Blade is so usable and yet still fun.
In November I rode my bike back from Blackpool to Oxford (avoiding all motorways ) and got back when it was raining. I put it in the garage without cleaning it as I was cold, wet and had been riding for over 7 hours so had a little ache all over. The next day I had to go to work early and then didn't get home for 6 weeks after that (apart from one night), the dead flys had turned mouldy and my white wheels we're black, I had however taken the time to cover it with WD40 so rust hadn't started to form (mostly). That took some cleaning last week
You should see it after todays ride out (well it is sunday and was above 8 degrees), not cleaned it yet as it was dark when I got home, I'll do it tomorrow.
I cant believe no one has started a new thread, so many shiny blades on here. It must be about time to show the dirty girls too! so Im off to start a Thread! come on Demon Tweeks or other Forum sponsor, how about a tub of Muc Off for the owner of the dirtiest blade, lol
I do clean the Fireblade occasionally but it does slightly bore me. I love the sight of a dirty bike that looks like it's gots some use and history to it. The NEC bike of the show for me was the TT Legends endurance Fireblade fresh and uncleaned from Le Mans: scratched, chipped, covered with flies and oily mechanics' fingerprints. A true working bike: utterly stunning.
