Hi remal done a lot of reading up regarding this flapper mod and I'm going to do it on mine Just started to stripp it down but a lot of people do the flapper mod and they say you can tell the diffrence
I think my tilt switch is mounted on the plate at the front of the fairing bracket, between the catch bottle/wiring as can be seen on the SES website picture below.

Remel are you planning on going track only, day time MOT or swapping fairings back and forth for track days ? I don't think I could be arsed with that amount of work for odd track days.
I don't need a MOT until next Spring So wondering if I can get away with it. Saying that I do want to tour and once I get used to how they go together etc... it may be easy to take off and on. But I need to see, i'm going to spray it myself now and looking at Ford St/RS orange. So nice and bright But also the same colour as on the V5 i'm hoping to do more track time this year, hoping to get rocky booked for April. So gives me time to get the bike ready and sorted
I just called it daylight MOT as that's what people tend to refer to it as. No need for you to get an MOT until you need one but you'll still need a brake light, reflector and horn. Then you can use the bike during 'Daylight Hours' which is defined as half hour before sunrise and half hour after sunset. The trouble comes when you're trying to explain that to a copper by the side of the road that doesn't know the law. I thought about it but decided it was all too much hassle and got trackbike. Orange is the fastest colour obviously, unless it's a gixxer in which case it's black ;-) (Quote from Carole Nash website.) "To qualify for a daytime MOT your bike must “have neither front nor rear position lamps, or have such lamps permanently disconnected, painted over or masked.” This applies to headlamps, position lamps and indicators. The situation with stop lamps is significantly more complicated. Machines do not need to have a stop lamp fitted if they cannot exceed 25mph, were first used before 1st January 1936 or were first used before 1st April 1986 and do not exceed 50cc. Those first used before 1st April 1986 must have a stop lamp that operates from at least one brake control and those used on or after that date must have a stop lamp operated from both brakes. There is an added if not widespread complication for bikes first used from 1st April 1986 which were approved with a stop lamp activated by one control. There were very few of these and test inspectors are instructed to fail a bike only if they are certain the stop lamp was designed to be operated by both brake controls and isn’t. Your bike must be fitted with a rear reflector and an “audible warning device”, typically an electrical horn, which must be loud enough to be heard by another road user."

Cheers AVB, I been out a few times with mates on daylight MOT and agree with the police bit, was pulled by a bike copper at the weston bike event and they said they would look into if my mate was riding legally with he was 100% Again mid, maybe 2 pints then
Hi Remal, looking good so far and good write up! Could have done with this last year when I started mine! Only thing I'm not sure about is the fairing/clock bracket you have bought if this will have anywhere to mount the bank angle sensor, if its the same as the stock bracket then it won't. I had this trouble when I turned mine into a track bike. I ended up using a couple of cable ties, on first test ride it cut out 3 or 4 times whilst riding!! Not good! Options are race style bracket ie SES or Ten Kate Racing do a bracket that mounts onto the standard fairing/clock bracket and has two holes to secure the sensor, was also handy for cable tying other bits too. I'm fitting race air tubes this year and taking bike to BSD dyno for a custom map once they are on, they're going to sort out the secondary air system and blank it off. You only need to blank it near the throttle bodies if you remove the whole thing, if not blanking the vacuum hose will be ok I think. If you want any pics of what mine looks like let me know, I might have a spare TKR bracket as well for the sensor. Cheers Dan

Remal heres some pics I managed to take and one I found. Might be of use might not be...all of the secondary air junk is still attached at the minute as waiting until I get me new air tubes before taking them all off, the unplug connector is for the relay for the lights. As you are aware Im sure but for anybody that is not...the bank angle sensor mounts onto the back of the nose cone on the standard fairing, so when you use race fairing you loose the mounting point hence the bracket on the stock clock/fairing bracket.
Stunning pics bud, very handy for me and others. And prob the answer to my question. I tried to fit my Harris Fuel cap, see other thread and thought I would see what happens now I have removed all the stuff from the front of the bike, the tilt sensor is not fitted. So once I put the key in nothing lit up, the only thingI heard was I think the pump reply make a noise.
There was a point once I'd taken the fairing off, I stood back looked at it laid out on the grass looked at the bike wires everywhere and thought what have I done?! Panic set in so I decided I'd start it up check it still worked and like you say turned the key and nothing!!! I very nearly cried!! Plugged everything I'd unplugged back in and still nothing..was starting to poo myself at this point.. Finally worked out a) I had a bank angle sensor b) it was hanging upside down Sound of the fuel injection and then the bike starting best 2 noises of last year!! We're at similar stages really I suppose, I did Snet last year with the bike and track fairing fitted but have since modified it quite a bit, now just waiting to get some CRC fairing, custom map and suspension set up ££££ (hopefully winning the lottery soon). Be good to see your progress and likewise I'll post pics etc of mine.
What I did yesterday, strip the back end which was again easier than I thought. I took the whole back end off to also remove the pillions pegs. Then found out that the Sato Street hooks I bought last year do not fit the ABS blade !! and you need a ABS street hook, So warning if you buy second hand. and at the time there was nothing on their website about ABS hooks rather that sale the one's I have used I have put on the left side street hook and left it bare on the right. Not that you will be able to notice much and not that I take pillion. Next thing I need to do is remove the tilt sensor and few bits of wiring at the front and put on my new clock mount which I arrived Sat looks 3 arms lol. Brother in law popped in so held it up for a good pics. well a ok pic
