Your's is a 2009, the part number for the original tensioner is 14B-12210-00. Part number for the new tensioner 1KB-12210-00.

Running in is 600 then servicing every 6000 miles or 12 Months.

    No outstanding recalls.

Watch the headlights as well, a kit was issued to prevent the lights melting the nose fairing due to focusing the sun light (if we get any) like a magnifying glass. A modified light can be identified by a frosted section on the bottom of the light lens, the kit was simply 2 reflective strips you would apply to the bottom of the lens.

If Honda or Yamaha have them on their systems, no problem.

They are a bit marmite - I love the power delivery - nothing like any other bike, very different to ride - think VFR400 engine rev ability is closest I can describe it - and for 1,000 that's something.

Deal was good, I'm happy. Blade needs a fair bit of work and lots of TLC and then will think what to do - I've had my money out of it twice over (if not more) so it will stay for now - its not any state to sell as it is.

What was the competition? Is this bike a bit infamous ? All I know is that the winner could not ride , tried to sell privately but had no luck.

Was supplied by Padgetts in Batley where it will go for its first service as about 30 - 40 miles away.

Yep a very different animal to the Blade, more focused and raw. Personally don't think they handle as well as the Blade and they can take some muscling round corners but the power delivery is very deceptive when you end up travelling a lot quicker than you think your going and I do like the noise they make.

Beware of the strength of some the detergents (Muc-Off etc.) you may use as well as I've seen plenty where the finish (paint) has been affected.

Not meaning to put a downer on anything, great bike was my other option other than the Blade.

Any questions or problems let me know, I've got Yamaha UK on speed dial.

YD62 = Yorkshire (how you get all this info!)

He was the prize winner (mr Lambert) - but how did he win it?
