Last time i was in Iraq I was working fairly closely with the Yanks and there was this guy who unfortunately had the same Surname as me whose personal weapon was a Shotgun :roll eyes:not a rifle like all the other soldiers…..this kind of sums up the bloke. One day he came round to our workshop for a chat and a few drinks (as the yanks weren't aloud alcohol and we could get it) and he started getting on his high horse (bonnet of a humvee) about how guns were banned in the UK and in Texas (where he was from) he could carry a gun around with him. He then carried on to tell me, and I quote "if anyone comes round my house and knocks on the door, then tells me I have to hand over my guns, I'll ask him to wait a minute and go fetch my guns, I'll then explain to him that it aint personal but BAM (with appropriate hand action), I'll shoot that dude! just as long has he knows it aint personal but no-one is taking my guns". I'll never forget the conversation, despite it being over 6 years ago. The other guy from Texas whose surname was 'Waddle' and we nicknamed 'Chris' (he never understood it) was a good bloke whose had booked his leave to coincide with the "testicle festival" where they neuter all the bulls and cook up the nuts for dinner.
