I can't tell if this product has been discussed as i am on a temp internet orange stick and its touch and go if i lose connection. Damodici was enquiring last night about this and i typed in my reply twice and lost the connection .Anyway i have this product fitted on all my bikes usually at Hunts Honda Manchester or at the approved fitting agents .INVISIBLE PATTERNS near to pie eating country Wigan, There is also a web site www. invisible film and also on you tube there are demos. It looks easy but when i had my ZZR1400 done it was'nt the biggest kit but it took the dude over 2 hours so let the fitters do it!.Fantastic product that really works and you have to look very close to see it fitted they even do the head lights so if you have a new motor/Helmet /car or paint job which is always just a touch softer than the Honda paint i would very highly recommend.
Yip, got my 2011 hrc done as soon as I received it from the dealers it's a great product and well worth it as the new waterbased paints are sh-te! Just a heads up tho- I asked my fitter in Newcastle if it comes off easily( if you ever wanted to) and he said it can bring the paint off as you peel it away! But in most cases it should come off ok!! Make of that what you will. Has anyone on here ever tried to remove it?
I wish i had mine done.. I now have little white chip and stone marks up my gloss black fairing on a 5 month old bike
That's the trouble dan, gutted for you bud. I read up on the new paints been so soft and looked into this is I'd heard about it from somewhere, the only bit they don't do is the little v piece on the bottom under the radiator and on the 11 hrc it's black- and that bugger is peppered in White specks! So if yours is like that dan I can imagine how you feel. My 10 year old rrw isn't as bad as that little v piece!! Lol
Yeah im livid to be honest . 11k bike and its looking worse every time i ride it . Its got to the point where i either need to put chineese fairing kit on and save the oem's till i sell it on or try and keep an eye out for a bargain on oem from ebay to put on when its time to trade up So So wish i bought the Venture shield kit and now recommend it to every one
I've got the negative problem, Black stone chips showing on the White. How 'bout we swap, Dan. I am sorely tempted by Venture shield it's only about £55 for a full set for my RR2, well worth it I feel, but I'd need to get rid of my 'blackheads' first. Has anybody had any experience of these 'Chips Away' guys?
Just a note on paint quality. This is why i sold my Honda Type R .Had it 2 months and it was peppered with stone chips mainly around the cills .The paint (and i stand to be corrected by any paint buffs) is now water based because of Eu rules on Carbon emmissions (Boring) Hence the thiness of the paint .My first upset with paint was when i bought a ZX10 from DK with an Nakano gp race paint job by dream machine again after about 3 friggin weeks the sucker had loads of white flecks all over, and being the way i am i sold it on for an R1 and i give it the protection film its all good.I really like a good paint job and nearly bought the Mcguinness IOM rep but decided on the HRC and i am well chuffed however with out the protection it would proberly now be for sale.
It sounds like the venture shield is more than worth the money then, I just hope I can find someone in Cornwall that fits the stuff!
I bought the full venture shield kit for my 2011 hrc one tip DO NOT FIR YOURSELF i ended up binning loads of it and cutting my own bits just for main area ie noe cone tank front of fairing! its a fooking chore and half to fit fantastic product! USE A PROPER FITTER!
We used these guys before at Arnold Clark most of them do a good job, dont know about the guy in your area but most done the job really well
Fitted it myself as well front was a bugger and swore quite a lot but the rest i thought was easy but as you say best get it fitted by the professionals
Had venture shield fitted to my Ducati 1098R & Demosedici £175 fitted on the 1098R and £400 fitted on the Desmodedici Therefore should be around £175 fitted on the blade or around £90 for the kit. No brainer since it takes nearly a full day to fit!!! Also venture shield is a top quality product.
They're a franchise so quality can differ between each franchisee, I would guess? I used them a few years back in west London when I sold my black Audi that had quite a few chips/scratches on the front bumper, which rather annoyingly showed as white underneath the thin black paint so were really obvious. The bloke who did it was really good and you couldn't tell it had been patched up. Very good price, too. Would recommend if you're going to ventureshield it straight after.
Please excuz me for stepping in .This can be applied at a bike shop if they have an agreement like Hunts have or at a typical small unit on an industrial estate .I think the first thing to do is to track down the local approved fitting centre and take it from there .Deff worth doing .
Got mine done gor £150 from an approved installer in cowgate, just a small lock up but deffo a job for the professionals IMHO
You'll find that most Chips Away franchisees won't want to touch a motorbike. Have a look for your local "Bike Medic" franchise operator.
