Took my wife in the back of the 929, thrashed it.

Was an expensive lesson as she then wanted her own bike!

My lad also come on the back, same outcome with a pit bike.

Never tried taking anyone in the back of the 10 as took the pegs of immediately, but agree from the 929 that is hard work on the wrist when breaking.

I used to take the Mrs out a lot ...........until I bought the Blade.
She didn't enjoy it much at all.
She hasn't been on the back of the RC8 yet and I haven't even put the pegs or rear seat on.
She struggled to get on the back of the Blade so I think the 8 will be a big problem.......shame ;)

we dont take pillions, dave used to have a vfr750, i used to go on the back with him, but then it got to the stage i would ask if we could go out so he told me to go and get my own - so i did!! We do take the girls on the Bonneville's occasionally if we're going into town, but thats very rare with the weather we've been having plus mine has less than 50 miles on the clock!!

I wouldnt scare the smelly brown stuff out of your wife though, she may not trust you to ride 'sensibly' (lol) when you go out and tell you she doesnt want you riding anymore!!

    xx

Took wife out on the Fireblade. When we came back she said 'I prefer the last one'. Then she said she felt sick and went and laid down.

    Sorted.

didnt pass car test until i was 23 so first 5 years we were together i only had the bikes so other half was always coming out with me. used to do the weekly shop and carry it home between us on the bike, bags hanging on wrists etc they were the days lol . since having the boys she,s never been on it as same logic as si if anything happened when out i wouldnt like to think of the consequences.

the rear seat on the 8 is actually a little larger than the Blades seat. its just another 30cm further up in the air!

May have already said but check your insurance mate - quite a lot of policies auto exclude pillion and you have to specifically request to add back on.

My wife is always on the back of my blade she loves it we have great fun together its great overtaking solo riders in the twistie's,shes the perfect pillon we never bump heads and sits dead still and doesn't hang on but a tribo seat cover helps.

    Sorry Pal !

When I bought my new Repsol Fireblade ( 2011 ), it came without pillion seat and rear pegs !
I can't remember why the dealer removed it......................

Thanks for all the advice guys, the wife and I had a good laugh at some of them... also some really good advice, insurance is already pillioned up (not sure what went wrong there!) and the leathers arrived today so all we need now is gloves...and dry roads!
