Still loads of snow about in Bristol BUT the roads are getting a bit better. Main roads are fine but Friday they were not good at all. But gave me a good reason to go out with the family and use the diff lock and turn off the TC in the 4X4
It was Giv.......chucking it down when we left, most trains where on time out of Kings Cross.....except ours ! Which was delayed and we where left standing on a freezing platform, made worst by last nights alcohol thinned blood. When we got off the train the taxi driver told us it had been hoofing it down since early this morning, he agreed to take us home but only on the main roads and made no promises in the lanes but would give it a go. We made it back but it’s still chucking it down now. Looking a lot like we might have no alternative but 'working at home tomorrow'
Great I'm off to Sunderland tomorrow with work. Looks like its going to be a long journey There not a patch of snow up here, we've been the lucky ones for a change.
The Fylde coast has approximately 2cm of the stuff this morning. Expecting the roads to be gridlocked and schools closed within the hour.
Looks like we had a late snow fall around Warrington and now sleet, roads not fantastic as it looks like the Gritters where caught out .
Anyone know anyone in the food parcel business! Tried for twenty minutes to get up onto the lane this morning, and that’s with winter tyres fitted. When I watched a fella walking back down the lane who commented “only fools and four wheel drives” I decided to enough is enough. We had about 5" yesterday but that’s on top of ice and the snow from Friday and earlier last week. Now all we need is someone to hit a road side post and take out the broad band and we can have a proper day off.
Looks like a real bad night was had in The Mendip Hills when loads of folks where stuck ,even some farmers had to rescue the Sky film crew and put them up for the night .Watch out for Friday Northwest \ Northeast as we may get a fresh coating .
It still rough here in the eastern Fens, been below freezing for days now, was -12 at 05:00 hrs yesterday morning so the snow hasn’t melted or moved at all, and in some ways ist worse now that its frozen on the top. At least they have now gritted the lanes so we can venture out without fear of a cold and watery transition to the after live at the bottom of a dike.
What worries me, is that if there was a proper bad snow storm in Devon and folk were stranded would there be a Deliverance moment
You might have a point there mate, not so much of an issue out here as the born and breeds can always shift the snow given their big hands and extra fingers.
It snowed here last night. It's gone now but just for a minute it looked like this out of the window.
Keep your head down mate. Don't know how I kept dodging the bullet 'cos everywhere else around here got twatted. I've been lucky but the satellite says yours is about to run out.
6/8" of snow still here , -8/9 last night and tonight , On call , weather shit . Don't come to these hills
I'd be taking that quad of your boy and having some fun mate best times I had on mine was in the snow
