I was looking at the R&G bar end weights and was wondering how heavy they are in comparison to stock ones? I was surprised to feel how heavy the Honda ones are.
Afternoon chaps, Most of them do tend to be a little heavier than the standard bar ends. R and G do extensive research in to their products and from personal experience I have found that it makes the bike feel a little steadier at the front. I have a zx10r and noticed that it made it feel a little sturdier and gave me a bit more feel in the corners!! Hope this helps Andy
I'd love to know what the scientific explaination for bar weights is? Mine was/is fitted with virtually weightless alloy ones and it feels fine. My Ducati has none and feels fine. Is it all male bovine waste ?
put some one the duke and you will notice the difference. I ran with the standard caps on my 848, I stuck on some R&G's for crash protection and was surprised I did notice a difference even though if you asked me before I would have said there wasnt much vibration.
I think what it does is not so much remove the vibration as changes it's frequency to one that doesn't resonate the bars due to the added mass.
Actually, reading that back, its not right. It changes the resonant frequency of the bars not the vibration itself.
I had a slight vibration/tingle call it what you like, fitted R&G's and it went. Job done and they offer better protection if you drop it. Money well spent.
And here I thought it was to add mass which would help prevent tankslappers. Live 'n learn Are the R&G ones heavier than stock? I fitted some Bike It ones to mine last night (hopefully back riding tomorrow if the weather holds) But they were really light - especially compared to the stock Honda ones. I recon I could buy a set of 4 (2 pairs) of the Bike It's and combined they still wouldn't be as heavy as 1 stock Honda bar end.
yup and also spend millions on R&D to develop bikes that have cam pulse generator failures and drink oil like it is going out of fashion and have the odd ABS f%*k up lol everything on a budget when it comes to building a bike so everything can be upgraded/made better.
