Hi all, Well trackday season is nearly upon us and quite a few of us look up for a visit! I'm going to book Brands with MSV for either the 11th or 18th April. Be great if anyone else her can make it? If we can get 10 bookings we also save 10% so if you know of any other forums that would be up for it then we all get to save £14 (almost a tank 'o petty!). So then, do I stick with the stock Dunlop Qualifiers or go for the SportSmart?!
I'm doing Brands on Tuesday with Focused Events if anyone is interested??... Already done the new Snetterton circuit and its FRICKIN AWESOME. Needs to rubber in but what an improvement.
Just checked that day with Focussed Events. The Chrono timing sounds interesting. Wonder if they give you a print out of lap times?
They give you a print out at the end of the day. At lunchtime they adjust the groups as per laptimes which i think is a very good idea - apart from trying to push too hard to brag!
Hmmm am going to see if I can make Tuesday at Brands. Anyone tried the stock Dunlops on the track? :bad:
Take it easy and you should be fine. Roll on the summer, trackday heaven......................can't wait
Schweeeeeet! I'm in the Inters but will probably get kicked out at lunch when they discover my marathon-esque laptimes.. :bad:
Weather looks ok.. ish.. fingers crossed. I'm meeting another guy there and he's going to pitch up early to get a garage spot and try to save us a hole to shove our beasts into... I know we said we'd meet at Clackett Lane services, but Brands is only 11 miles from there so we may as well meet at the track?? I'll be there from 7:30 i rekon...
I'm pretty sure i'm taking the blade. But if i wake up to heavy rain then i'll go in the gixxer - mainly because ive got really good wet tyres on there. However the gixxer is also having oil aeration issues which i'm very confused about.. It would be really annoying if i took the gixxer and it dried out or the engine blew up! BBC weather is very likely to change so hopefully it might just miss Brands... did you get your tyres on??
Not yet as they had problems with stock (after booking me in saying they had them!) So I will just use the standard Qualifiers :suicide: and hope they decide to stick. After that I might get the SportSmart's I think as I need something that will cope with rain a little better than the SuperCorsa's. Fingers crossed for dry...
OK. Sounds like a daft question. Do you wear rain suits over leathers if it rains? Where do I get them? Can I just get a Tesco rain mac to fit over? If not, just tell me to man the fu(k up and get a good soaking!
You can wear rain suits but i dont think it will be that bad tomorrow. I have an all in one jobby, but it flaps all over the place and is pretty annoying. You can get track specific covers which are good, but normally they are top half only.. i just did a quick google and found this.. Trickbits Racing :: Clear - Waterproof Jonny Jacket (XL) You can wear anything that will fit over your leathers. Some people choose to wear hoodies if its cold, a Tesco rain mac will look lovely.. !
BOOOOOOM! what a wicked day - started off in the shitty rain but it was great experience and a tough morning. Dried out in the afternoon and shredded some tyres - Wahoooo! I'm booking more.. im addicted..
Awesome day. First couple of sessions in the rain but dried out almost completely towards the afternoon Well done zeepony for being promoted to the inters! Me, stuck in the beginners still but still an absolute stonker of a day :dance3:
