TWAT Guess what it was Yup the quick scan of the fuses, I should have looked closer Do I get into the daft person of the year yet. Spend hours stripping the bike right back. And was a simple 10 amp fuse
Well at least it's fixed and didn't cost anything! But yes I believe you may be a strong contender for this years numpty award!!!
Lol we will always Learn the hard way! Bit like when I decided to take my dash apart to change the led's and ended with the clocks showing about 6k on tick over
lol, can anyone suggest a good make of fuses. I have never bought ones for a bike. are that all the same size? Car's one's I know well, but not bikes
My bike conked out in a snow storm going up to the St.Barnardino pass late May - my mates just thought I'd stopped to take pictures. Bike would not re-start Left it for 5+ mins to dry and it started, got to top of pass, did not check anything due to opening of the pass (big event) Through that day bike would cut out, stutter then carry on - passing trucks going up passes was nerve racking hoping it would not cut out as a truck came towards me - going through a rain soaked tunnel with road works and mud everywhere I was proper bricking it. Limped through torrential rain to the Italian lakes and finally at hotel which had garage units with rooms above I took seat off and spotted fuel pump relay was 'resting' on connections - Bike had made it from Manchester to Italian lakes and only cut out in damp / cold. Reason it was 'resting' was due to poor starting with fouled plugs - AA man gave tip to remove relay, crank bike 30 seconds then put relay back on - did that but never pressed it fully home - have starting problems whenever bike does a long trip and then not started for 3 - 4 weeks - Honda UK told me that is normal and nothing to worry about....
Yes, as long as the Blade size is correct any will do. (You can't get a 'Sports Fuse', no matter how much the Placebo effect might say otherwise!)
Help Has this problem reoccurred, mine is doing the same I changed the 10amp fuse for the clock illumination as that is the one that had gone, I'd ridden it for an hour before the fuse popped again. Only addition I have made is fitting a waterproof data tool charger lead. Any ideas? Cheers Pete
Have you done anything else ? I had removed the battery and stripped the bike down, removed many multi plugs etc... So would be strange for yours to blow with such a simple mod
I'll check this all over tomorrow as its still doing it annoyingly. I'll go backwards from installing the datatool charging lead, thanks all for your help
