A BIG THANK YOU I just wanted to say that this is the first forum I have ever joined and to be honest I allways took the piss out of mates that were on them. I joined 1000rr in may 2012 about 2 weeks after my knee replacement to get me through the boredom sat on my arse recovering. I have met some really good people on rides and meets, got some great advice and hints, picked up cheap parts the list is endless! In the last 24hrs 2 people have even sent me stuff for no charge! I have even had advice on building work etc lol I did join the ktm forum also expecting it to be the same but its no where near as good as here. Although this forum has prob cost me a small fortune in bits I didn't even know existed, I am learning stuff everyday, having a great laugh and most importantly it helped me get through some difficult and depressing times throughout my recovery. So as I said, thank you to everyone who has helped me in all these ways, hopefully I can repay the favour to each of you one day
Ya big softy. Ooh on second thoughts you don't happen to have a spare liver and a compatible DNA match to spare, do you?
Agreed, best forum iv been on , on other forums iv joined , iv said hello and not 1 person has welcomed me to the community . I think all of our new members are surprised by the pages of " welcome to the forum " posts they recurve on they're intro thread , Fireblades just appeal to nice people I guess
We've got this whole..............care in the community vibe going on too. Help the Aged, MIND, Dynorod. They could all take some pointers from us.
Couldn't agree more. I've been a member on several forums. Fair enough the cross-dressing one was full of useful tips and advice but this one is the best, hands down. No arguments. No wankers. Just a great friendly bunch who always help you out when you need and are a great laugh to boot.
Ive heard the kawasaki forum is no where near as good and to be honest there advertising albeit similar.....
Great thread, there are some fantastic people on here who are always happy to help others out. Glad I can still be a part of the forum even though I defected
Exactly I love the way people don't reject you just because you decide to ride something other than a blade, I mean we all make bad decisions at points in our lives No it's more about 2 wheels in general we all share the same interest at the end of the day no matter what we ride, some of us just get there quicker
A bigger boy (Arthur) made me do it !! Some of us might not get there at all but will look good on the side of the road lol
In a world that you have to the grown up most of the time its great place to be immature and get away with it. Or as Ling constantly puts it "Your all silly silly boys"
Ling is a lot more refined in her observances than Jeanette, who constantly refers to us as a bunch of Kawasaki riders, especially when a a new name gets drawn from the hat and we begin open season on the poor sod it belongs to. Our attitude towards Diversity generally is a surprise to everyone, particularly when I consider political correctness should be confined to the spell checker's in Whitehall. We revel in the low level racism that we fling at members from foreign climes and the well meaning condescension we lavish on our older, frailer brothers (Giv' and Meg's, mainly), and everybody lingers on Ash's arse when reading her posts (I'm pretty sure she salivates a bit when she imagines my leather clad buns too) and if it wasn't for defectors like Jaime I'd get paranoid at every faint tapping I might catch from my engine. Then I just imagine him pulling up beside me at the lights sounding like a Keith Moon solo and feel alllllllllright. Yes, we've got it pretty good here at 1000rr.co.uk. The server's still a bit like a ruptured tortoise but the suspense sometimes as you wait for it to post your musings can be quite cathartic in itself. My only concern is that if we keep telling each other just how good we are I'll never get all the puke out of my keyboard. Gods bless you 1000rr.co.uk, Gods bless you everyone.
Quite simply, its the best forum around. its well moderated, by good looking and fast mods (remal is the exception of course) and i dont think any other forum has the depth of technical knowledge that we do, or the mix of new riders, fast road lads, TD riders and racers. We also have some very good traders. But most of all, its YOU, yes YOU. Its down to you fine chaps & gals that make this place the pleasure it is, as i said to Remal yesterday about attracting new members, its all down to Quality, not Quantity.
