If the bearing seats and thread parts like disk bolts were sand blasted you'll be ok, but if they were shot blasted then that's not good at all. Shot will eat metal hence making the recceses larger & threads will be weak under the right torques or even stripped at worse. :(

To be honest I'm not going to worry too much. These guys have been around for a lot of years. These aren't the first set of wheels they've done and I doubt that they'd still be in the game if they were destroying people's wheels.

yep just double checked and they're 42, must be something to do with only having 4 bolts on the rear and 6 on the front i guess.

They were 50 quid per wheel, mate. Seemed pretty standard cost round these parts.

I have always use the hammer method tapping the bearings in then
a socket to tap in the final bit.never any problems as long as its very
light taps working around the outter ring only.

I have to confess that I've pussied out here. I was phoning around the area today trying to find someone who had the dust seals in stock and happened upon a place close by that's run by a couple of former Honda mechanics who said they'd press the bearings and seals in, reassemble the wheels and balance them for me for £30 or so, so I decided to just let them do it. I figured that it'd be good to let them have a look at the bearing seats and get their opinion on them anyway. They said that they were fine, nothing to worry about.

Don't blame you, that's a very good price and saves you the hassle!
