I decided to try upgrading my master cylinder as cheaply as possible on my 07 blade. £200 + was not a option for a new Brembo MC and even a used one was £150 +. I noticed that after 2010 the R1's are given a Brembo MC as standard and there was a few on ebay. Picked up a very clean R1 MC, switch, bracket and reservoir form ebay for £85. Good thing is the brake light switch and banjo bolt are all plug and play ( Hel lines already fitted). The only extra parts I will need are some new banjo washers and a small bracket to fix the reservoir to as the mounting is removed with the old MC. Anybody got a better fix than this?

I will post results and more pics as I get them. :Banane42::Banane42::Banane42:

The R1 MC went on like a dream. Brake light switch was plug and play and the banjo bolt just went straight in. Just need to some how mount the reservoir

    Thanks for the update scratcher.

Did you use your original reservoir or did you have to use the R1 reservoir?

I will be using the original reservoir and bracket as it looks like it works with the mount I have ordered.

Ok, so does anyone know exactly what year the R1 started using a Brembo master cylinder?

I honesty thought my brakes where good until I tyred a mates s1000rr. Realised my anchors are sh*t hence the upgrade. MC completed today and I can recommend it for any 04-07 blade. More feel, power and the bite. For £100 it's a bargain. Next thing I might try is some monoblock type calipers form an 08> blade or an R6-R1.
