Hello mate. I got a 7" x 5" and it was too small for my taste. I thought it didn't look right and I was sure that it would attract unwanted attention from the boys in blue. I ended up taking it off and putting an 8" x 6" on. Looks tidier and closer to standard.

From memory this is it with the 7" x 5" on.

Cheers Rich, Pix are a better gauge I think as everything on the yourplates site looks OK in isolation!

C'mon lads, more pix please with sizes? :)

I've had 7x5 for years and never any grief, but it's luck of the draw. Get the wrong copper on the wrong day and it's and it's a £60 fine.

Might be off set but fuel savings over the standard barn door though!

Sinewave what year do you ride?
It depends on that really as my mates old rr8 he could have a 6x4 and I could have a 7x5 yet mine would still look smaller on my rr5. Bit of an illusion with the exhaust I suppose, also depends on your exhaust

As you are a Cheshire boy I would just go Standard .The bike cops are keen on this I got 60 quids worth last Summer near Oulton Park and Si has had a run in maybe twice .I have done the plate thing for years and for me its not worth the hassle of continually looking over your shoulder .Favorite little pulling spot down your way is the Broxham Cafe roundabout and anywhere around the Midway plus every motorway around Cheshire .Unless your a sports bike rider no one even notices Except the cops!.

Another thing to look at is what the people you ride with have, as you will prob get away with a 7x5 until you do gooder mate turns up with a legal one suddenly drawing attention to yours lol. You also don't wanna be that do gooder and get all your mates fines lol

I went for 7.5x6 to keep same aspect ratio as std 9x7, it looks better than std but doesn't stand out like a sore thumb ;-)

yep I had a 8x6 too, and so far not had a pull. do have to grease the wheels of the MOT tester to let that and can through tho.:)
got a standard plate on me new blade but would definately fit an 8x6
