    Hi everybody

I decided to start a new thread so things don´t get confusing.

My objective is to bombard you with pics of the bike and discuss the mods done to it, successes and failures... positive and negative critics... although I dispense the latter ones... lol

I leave you with the list of mods already done to it.

For reference here is the link to intro I made to the forum with some more inside.

    http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/8657.htm

    Here goes...

    - PVM 6 Spokes alu forged wheels
    - Brembo Master Cylinder RCS 19 and matching Brembo Clutch lever
    - Goodridge Brake lines front
    - Carbon Lorraine Pads
    - Brembo Race Brake Discs
    - Custom made Bar Ends
    - R6 Throttle mod with Domino grips
    - Pair and flapper mod
    - BMC Race filter
    - TVM gas cap
    - Arrow GP2 exhaust
    - Leovince carbon heat shield
    - Carbon engine covers... these where already on the bike when I bought it
    - Stock gearing for now
    - Rexpeed passenger pegs bracket
    - Lightech Chain adjuster and Swing arm spools
    - Evotech license plate holder
    - Michelin Power One 120/70 and 190/55
    - Rear seat cowl from China
    - Half of Nicky mod
    - some random stickers

    Still waiting for:

    - FP Racing relocator bracket for rear caliper and rear brake line
    - DID 530 gold chain and gold Talon 43T rear sprocket
    - Evotech mirror block offs

Still to come on short notice...

    - Zero Gravity Corsa windshield
    - Lightech rearsets

Stuff I would like to add in the future

    - HM Quickshifter
    - Ohlins rear shock and front suspension revalve... I´m 6ft and wheigh 95-100kg fully equipped... depending on time of year...
    - Ohlins steering damper if I feel hindered by the action of the stock damper
    - HRC ECU and perhaps the power up kit...only if I loose my mind and just for giggles... cause I think any 1000cc bike nowadays has more then enough power...
    - Brembo Calipers... big maybe
    - and maybe also risk some new Chinese fairings from Neverland or Auctmarts... if I don´t have anything better to spend the money on...

Before I give you the pics I want to leave with my first impressions after my very first ride on the bike.

Well as you noticed I only drove the bike with the current mods already assimilated to it... so my impressions are based on that fact.
The bike handles as most of you already know like a 600cc it is really light and very flickable... especially with the Michelins Power One... power delivery is very smooth, but nothing else was expected coming from a lumpy V-twin. Power is plenty and more then enough... my brain will take some time to get used to this amount of power again...

I´m still looking carefully for the limits on the bike but noticed already that once the tires are hot the thing grips very nicely providing lots of confidence. The suspensions is stock with just some small adjustments for my weight... and until I don´t find the limit on the bike that will stay like that.

The HESD on this bike was one of my main concerns, especially having ridden the 2004 Fireblade for 2 years I found the steering damper action very intrusive, with that bike things only got better when I put the HRC ECU on it and reprogrammed the HESD to a linear action... but on this 2008 it didn´t bother me that much... I guess Honda has evolved in the HESD programming department which is good to know but also to be expected I guess.

One problem I encountered right away was the slipping and sliding on the seat, especially when leaning over I got a little scare when I slipped almost from the bike... lol... so I decided I will retrimm the stock seats with anti-slip fabric... and just to be on the safe side already ordered some Stomp Grip for the tank.

The R6 throttle mod is great... looks stock, works like stock and with just the shorter throw... recommend it to everyone.

The exhaust has a very nice tone to it... just like it should be... although for many it will be to loud. For me it is just right. Still not as loud as my RSVR with Tigcrafts... that thing was earth shattering:D

Comments and opinions welcome... now for the pics

Don´t worry only driven for 240km and the tires are new... still getting to know the bike... although on the street I rarely go to the limit, especially on the front.

Very very nice, you have to get some brembo callipers to go with the discs and m/c though.

Where did you get the rexpeed pillion peg brackets from and how much were they

Ten Kate uses them on their bikes too... I´m so tired of always seeing Marchesini that I wanted something different...

Got them through Ten Kate Online shop for 1550€ plus VAT

I got me a new windscreen a Zero Gravity Corsa Series... Fit and finish is very good... And wind protection is excellent, I am 1.83m tall and now I can hold top speed in a racing tuck effortlessly... Can only recommend it to anyone looking for good wind protection... Stock is really very very bad. More then happy with this upgrade

Lost a screw from the rear brake reservoir so I put in a special one together with the oil cap.

Also opened up the Nicky Mod a bit more
