I don't like to make a big thing about it but I doubt I'll last the night. This kind of bravery should go unnoticed. It's all inherent to my idiom.

I dont have a corner preference
I find it odd my mate drags his right knee on nearly
Every corner but his left slider is like new

Ash, the reason for this is down to the camber on the road. When you take a right hander the angle of lean will be greater than the left hander. It's really difficult to explain but if you can imagine your tyre on the road, the road rises up to meet it towards the middle of the road, whereas it falls away towards the left hand kerb, therefore a lesser lean angle. Try drawing a sketch of it with a camber on the road reaching it's highest point in the middle , this might make it easier to understand.

Get Mrs stu to stand at your favourite corner and take pictures as you pass by.

Just to share my experience with you, I didn't have chicken strips on my tyres and when I saw a picture of myself I was devastated! Lol I was nowhere near as close to the road as I thought I was....it did show me though that I was very much in the safe zone which can help your confidence.

As others said, ride to Your comfort in the end and the chicken strips will disappear.

Camber aside, assuming a flat surface (Runway etc) there is also the little fact that if you lean off a Bike more when cornering, the Bike it's self will lean less than if you stayed central on the seat.

Therefore leaning off more on left hander's than right (as Ash does) will result in bigger 'Chicken Strips' on the left hand side of the tyre as it's not been over as far.

I got someone to take pics of me on a roundabout to see hog far I'm going but it doesn't really help because just goes blurry! I was trying to see how far I was from getting my knee down, I think I have plenty of lean angle on the right but still no touch down so must be down to technique I suppose

Your upper body is still central to the bike. Its difficult to see from the blurry pics but I would guess you've shifted your arse off the seat but not moved your upper body across... so youre skewed. Apparently such a position means the position your inside leg naturally falls to is such that you're unlikely to get the knee near the deck.

That is what was explained to mate who does the same. I on the other hand adopt a great position but im just never cornering fast enough!

That looks like it was taken with a phone camera bud, you should of get different angles so one of you from behind taken from the outside of the roundabout. Doesn't matter if you come our a little small. You can still tell a lot about BP and how much you leaning.

You BP in the picture reminds me of Troy Bayliss. Have you ever scrapped your foot rest?

I will post some pictures of me but I only have of me on a R1 lol

Then I think it does boil down to your technique and body position.

Can you hold that position if you were to take your hands off the bars?

I have enjoyed reading this topic as I've posted about this sort of topic on other forums in the past and I've not read such good advice. Usually you get piss taking and that's it!
