Anybody recommend where to get the fastners? More after the actual 1/4 fastner bit than the riveted bit.. Have got a race front subframe so need 2 to secure the nose with. Cheers
Cheers Remal, just got off the phone to CRC ordered 2 fastners as well. Question for you do you need to put any heat tape on the inside of the belly pan near the exhaust to stop it getting too hot and melting?
I cut a small area out but will prob do that as it gets quiet close to the fairing, So a good shout on that
To add this look good Heat Shield Tape --- Thermal Velocity | Hi-Performance Exhaust Wraps and Heat Shields - Made in Manchester, UK
What would you do then just run some heat tape around the area or get some of the Magmashield they do with the sticky backing? What's any one else done with theirs?
Really happy this has come up as I've just fitted a set of CRC fairings and have been wondering the same thing
Was thinking either Heat Shields --- Thermal Velocity | Hi-Performance Exhaust Wraps and Heat Shields - Made in Manchester, UK or Fairing Exhaust Engine HEAT SHIELD Trackday Race Bike Road Bike Self Adhesive | eBay if I'm going to do the whole belly pan I guess a sheet of the stuff would be best but if only around the exhaust area then maybe the tape? What does anyone think between the two
I use tape, but it's proper stuff that should cost 250 Quid a roll but I get it for nowt. The tape is easier to cut to shape etc and works well
I like the second one you found on Ebay. as many of the Ally tape is too thin for my liking Good find
also found Exhaust Wrap, Exhaust Heat Shield, Turbo Heat Shield, Black & Silver Heat Wrap - Demon Tweeks Design Engineering Reflect-A-Cool - JJC Race & Rally http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motor...otection/cool-it-adhesive-backed-heat-barrier thinking DT discount
Design Engineering Reflect A Gold - Demon Tweeks Exhaust Wrap, Exhaust Heat Shield, Turbo Heat Shield, Black & Silver Heat Wrap - Demon Tweeks and remember if you bought something that was not sticky then you "CAN" use normal everyday silicone sealant that does not melt. I have used it on my Exhaust in the kit car and it does not melt. We are talking very hot manifold and silicone does not melt Sorry just a heads up
no point doing the whole belly pan, waste of money+time (if you have to buy it obviously). for the 08's,just some tape along the area where the can touches in alll you need. Craig, you do this on your 07?
Yeah same as will only do the bit near the exhaust, don't want anything too thick either then if it touches... There's so many variants though lol See DT do a heat tape Cool-It Thermo Shield Tape - Demon Tweeks total cost is 31 quid though including shipping!!
