Oooh, cool thread. Born in '78. Saw 500cc GP on the telly when I was 5, and was fascinated by bikes ever since. Family old me if I waited until I was 17 and promised never to get a motorbike, they'd pay for my driving lessons, buy me a car & insure it. By 5:45pm on my 16th Birthday I had passed my CBT & was on the road (courtesy of an understanding step father) April 1996 - Kawasaki AR50 Nov 1996 - Aprilia RS50 April 1997 - Cagiva Mito 125 Feb 1998 - Splattered on Talgarth Road in Hammersmith July 1998 - Insurance paid out. Spent it on a holiday to the Canaries & a 1986 sky blue Rover 216 van den plas (complete with sunshine roof & electric windows) "Biking Sabbatical" Feb 2008 - GSXR600K6 Jan 2011 - CBR1000RR-8
34 now. passed my test when 29 first bike Fazer 600. used every day to commute and kept for 2 years. second bike was a new 08 plate Blazing Orange Speed triple. Stunning bike Current bike repsol Blade. loving it test rode many other bikes over the years. Superduke, BMW 1000RR, GSXR600 &750. R1 etc...
I started riding late when I was 37. My first bike was a new Honda 125 Varadero, I liked the size of it. Second bike was after 3 months and I got a new Hornet 600, that was an interesting learning curve, felt like I was on a rocket when I left the showroom, my adrenaline didn't stop going for months. Third bike was 9 months later and I got a new CB1000R. I got fed up of dodging rain so also got a CB500. Then on the CB1000R which I had for almost two years I turned left on diesel and came off, that wrote it off so I got a new Street Triple, I did 300 miles on that and never really liked it much, great torque but build quality was poor compared to Honda and steering lock was dreadful in traffic. So I got rid of that and after going to the TT this year on a Blade I had to get one so part exchange it was and I dont regret a second, what a bike. Must say though ASB front brake is a little odd, I had ABS on my CB1000R and never had that front brake lever pull in like that but as someone said you do get used to it.
I was born in 1973 my first bike at 16 was a honda CB50 I took a training course to keep the parents happy I've got a feeling it was a rospa course or similar! At 17 I got a NS125R and passed my test on it. 2 weeks later I had my first big bike which was a Kawazaki ZXR750 H2 the ones with the hover pipes!! Since then i've owned a TDR250, RGV250, GP100, RD350LC, YZF750, CBR400 Gullarm R1, GSXR750, GSXR600 I've got a feeling i've left something out somewhere. I regret selling the RD350LC the most. Back when I sold the ZXR750 after owning it for 3 years I had enough money to buy a RC30, but instead like a twat I bought a Golf GTI. And now I'm the owner of a CBR1000 RR6. I still lust after an RC30 but can't see myself paying upwards of 16k for one!!
I was born in 1980, started on bikes when I was 8 when I crashed my friends PW50 into a garden fence after trying to do a jump. After years of begging my dad got me a KX80 that I spent most of my life on flying round the farm we lived on also has a KX125 and a CR250. One of the guy's who worked on the farm had a gsxr1100 slingshot and I knew then I had to have a road bike. Joined the navy in 1997 at the age of 16 and spent years training or away so when I hit 21 I booked a one week Direct Access course and bought a cbr400rr from the local bike shop ready for when I passed Passed first time and spent the next 6 months ragging the little 400 for all it was worth, I still miss that little bike it was in Repsol paint with an art carbon can. Then I bought the 99 R6 followed by two 99 R1's and now the blade.
Ohhhh memorys, I think I am going to cry now, Its the only bike I have no pictures of gutted, she looks like a stunner
Born 63,from around 14yrs loads of field bikes then fs1e at 16 whilst at school- cool, lol. Yds7 250 at 17, brand new rd 200 in 81, x7, 250 superdream with 400 engine, rd250, rd400, lc350, z1000r2 eddie Lawson rep, kids, house then rxs100! To build up some no claims then rrw blade kept that for 11 yrs and now brand new hrc and loving it. First time I've ever put this down! Looking back on the late seventy early 80s bikes with great fondness, I always wanted a z1r. Rose tinted specs me thinks as the new bikes these days are so much better.
I did treat it like a baby, I had a friend/ neighbour who owns a body shop do the paint. Polishing the frame and swing arm was a bloody nightmare but did set the bike off. I've got a couple more photos somewhere i'll have a look for them later. Oh and the guy I sold it to wrote it off after 3 days
Thanks mate would love to see the pics my baby blade was a 88 import NC23 tri arm RR-J if I remember correctly. It was my first road bike and I really, really looked after it, I sold it to some knob at work who trashed it in about 3 months, I was absolutely gutted but it was his bike to do as he wanted I had my R6 to look after then
Yeah even though it was no longer mine I was totally gutted, when I heard I really wished I hadn't sold it! Anyway a few more pic's
Stunning bike there, I watched mine slowly get more and more trashed until he blew the engine, then he sold it to a mate of mine who turned it into a track bike. Its always sad to watch but you cant keep them all, unless your Dan just 1 moore bike lol

Here we go . Born 1957 .Employed as a construction Project Manager. Only passed my Bike test in 2000 this was due to both kids and business commitments.Kids now all married and gone so playtime.I started on a Kawasaki j2 and to be honest i can't remember how good it was or how shit i was because i had no bike mates.I traded this in within 6 months and bought from Carnells in Stockport a Suzuki TL 1000 which was a great looking bike (in Blue) I went to a bike meet nr Liverpool (The hen and Chickens) and found about 6 good mates who i teamed up with .As i was a novice and these dudes were ''proper bikers'' i had quite a few moments .However because of the fast learning curve i took up the fast road riding game and although we have gone seperate ways i live for the bike .since then i have owned 2 gsxr 1000s a gsxr750 3 R1s Triumph 675 zzr1400 and 3 Blades its all good! also forgot a have also had 2 no zx10s both green i got the first one from Millemium in St Helens and this bike was classed as the most ruthless machine going ,as it was you could not ride it fast on the road due to the stiff frame ect so i had some work done at Kais who are always at the BSB races but bar going to Maxtons for a new shock it was still hard to ride fast is i swopped it for an R1 and bingo fast again. after about 8 months a bought another ZX10 this time in Gp Nakano , Dream machine paint job i bought this because i liked it and also i thought it might be my riding and not the bike (Wrong) doh ! which is a real shame but i think they have only just (this year ) got the road bike right .I did consider one this year over the Blade however i do not like the windscreen and also it looks to small for my frame.
