I know this has been posted/asked before but I can't find it. Is it worth getting a power commander for my RR6 with akrapovic slip on exhaust? what are the pros and cons?

Also if I have the before mentioned exhaust do I need to do the flapper mod? if yes can someone point me in the right direction on how to do such mod.

Sorry for simple questions but I am new to all this

    Thanks

Flapper mod is the easiest cheapest mod to do, presuming its the same as the 2005 you just reach through the gap on the left hand mid fairing and you will find a UFO type shape object with a pipe going into it, pull off the pipe then block it with a bolt and tape it up. Job done :D

only con is price of the PC

get a custom map if you can afford it as its so much better than the downloaded ones.

Ive just fitted a pc3 to my rr5 and I removed the flapper completly and will hopefully get it mapped soon,
my previous bike was a 954 which had the same mods and when I got it mapped it made a world of differance ,
it was so smooth and the power would pull hard from anywhere in the rev range

I would love to do these mods myself, as Id love to sort out the snatchy lo rev power delivery.
Might be getting some new hoops on the never never so will be fighting the urge to throw a PC5 in the finance basket too.
its only the fact that I dont have a PC, is it a case of downloading a map (website?) and simply uploading it once (if this is the case i could borrow a laptop for an hour?).

yes zipster just download a map from powercomanders website and load it onto the pc5 with a laptop, but their maps arnt great, and a dyno run and custom map is well worth the money

Is there a list of people that can map them or can pretty much any rolling road do it?

The rolling road will need specific software to program the PC check http://www.dynojet.co.uk/index.php/atcs?type=1 for approved tuners.
The custom map is only as good as the guy who creates it!

Check with Dynojet direct as they offer free mapping sessions if your exhaust/filter combo is not already available to download.( you do have to up to Lancashire though!)

Its takes about 3 hours @ about £60ph

I have done the flapper mod on my RR5 and also fitted a PC3. Well worth the money, but as has been said, get a custom map done for it. I pay £100 for a dyno run and the guy also does my race bike and he works wonders with these things. Go for it!

theres install guides on the powercommander website, simple enough , just route the cables down under the tank and unplug bottom injectors and plug in the pc3 connections and throttle position sensor,
