I always put it on a hot chain at the end of the day's ride. Gives it heat and time to sink in. Less likely to fling.
to remove chain oil, I use Muc Off water soluble degreaser, works a treat especially when aggravated with a brush, then once done, just hose off and hose down brushes and everything comes up clean as before you started as the degreaser is water soluble. hope this helps.
Absolutely identical to my chain cleaning / lubing routine. Nothing else I've found cleans a chain like a paraffin rag. And Wurth's a really good product.
I've always used non-fling chain lube that flings itself all over the wheel and under the tail section. I fancy a go with Wurth now. Is there a particular Wurth variety to go for? For cleaning the non-fling lube you all recommend paraffin, where can I pick this up relatively cheap?
You should be able to get the paraffin from any decent hardware store / garden centre. And it's the Wurth High Performance Dry Chain Lube that you want.
Oh and I'm sure I don't need to come over all condescending.........but .........be a bit careful with paraffin. The vapours tend to creep and if they then find an ignition source you'll end up looking like pork scratchings. Don't soak the sh*t out of the rag and put the top back on the bottle once you've applied it to the rag.
