Spent the evening with a mate I haven't seen for about six months. Inevitably the conversation got around to bikes and what I get up to on here and after a while he said I'd become a FireBlade snob. Have I.....? Are we......?
I figure I'm one of them too, despite not owning one for the last couple of years. I know I was one when I had one. I wouldn't have minded so much but he rides.......a FireBlade....
I think there is a fine line between Fireblade snob and being very proud of your machine to the extent that you would find minor issues "mainly magazine led" on other quality bikes and at the same time not entertaining any negative comments of the chosen brand.
If we we're fireblade snobs then we wouldn't welcome guys n gals with different bikes into the forum or let them stay once they'd drifted away from having a Fireblade.
Tbh this is the least biased forum I've been on !whats good is the friendly banter the variety of threads and its not full of complaints about the make or model.............that said as Si said the blade ( any year ) is the best bike out there
There is a level of envy that manifest when bikers with other bike recognise bond, love and camaraderie that comes with the blade I love you all;(
Snob ha ha me you got to be joking , I'm the most common person you could ever meet and proud of it ,
It’s a known fact that if you can listen to the William Tell Overture without thinking of the Lone Ranger then you’re a Snob
Okay okay, the vibe I'm getting is that we're discerning in our choice of bike based on 20 years of competition, quality, performance and capability. We share and appreciate, without want of gain, our knowledge and experience within a large and like minded fraternity of like minded owners. We strive to improve that experience and disseminate that experience gladly amongst each other freely and no personal agenda. But we are not snobs. Is that right?.... We are better than everyone else though, aren't we?
Please explain the "definition " of a snob.? Us underlings always consider the upstairs downstairs caper as snobbery.
I just think its nice to own and ride an iconic bike that's been around for 20 years. Yes it's fast, but I,ll never use it's full potential, but it's nice to know you can burn off that Porsche if you wanted to !
