Fender extender

I have just fitted a Pyramid fenda extenda what's your thoughts?

 

got one on mine ,just like yours hardly noticeable ,but protects the rad from stone damage .
i didnt think stones would be a problem , but a mate of mine had one hole his rad whilst in europe last year, as tesco say "every little helps."

 

It's ridiculous that the oem one doesn't extend that far in the first place!

 

Looks good I had one of those on a triumph it did a great job. My mudguard is white i would have to have it sprayed, pity someone doesn't do a longer replacement mudguard in assorted colours. I have fitted rad guard and down pipe grill to cope with the stone problem, but a longer mudguard would keep the whole front end cleaner.

 

Carl Hi, sounds boring but how did you get the mudguard off to fit the fenda extend? I tried with the wheel on and cannot pull the mudguard through to fit it. Got all the fitting and bolts off etc. Did you do it wheel out? Rgds Landy

 

I left the wheel and mud guard in place, however I removed the bolts securing the mudguard to enable me to clean the mudguard where the extension sticks inside but I fixed it back on before fitting it. I only used two screws, one each side and hid them behind the brake pipes. I also used my own self tapper screws that are black.

 

I've got the radiator guard and one of these extenders might help during cold, wet commutes when the water thrown up onto the radiator creates so much steam at traffic lights it looks like like I've bust the radiator. It obscures my mirrors so I put Fog-ex on the glass. Is the extender a result, Carl?

Hi Carl, I tried to fit an extender by removing the fender - but after unbolting it couldnt get the fender out in case of scratching it. Did you drop the front wheel first get access to the fender? Or is it question of getting the fender at the right angle to pull it through?

I cant see how you can get the extenda on and screws etc without having good access to the fender first. Any help much appreciated!!

 

I only unbolted the mudguard to clean where the sticky pads attach, I them fully refitted it before fitting the extender. It simply sticks in place with the sticky pads on the extender, there are four selfs tappers but I only used two. One on each side, drill pilot holes screws in job done. I unbolted the brake pipes and posotioned the self tappers behind the pipe and used my own black screws so they don't stand out, you can just see them on the pic. You don't need to remove the mudguard or the wheel, turn the wheel to the left to access the right and visa versa.
