I really have. first foray in the taking bikes apart, have enjoyed it But now the the fcuking bike won't start. After Christmas the fuse went, bike would start but no lights etc... the bike started up straight away after months of being in the garage So took the bike out yesterday to finish off the track fairing. Would not start. sod it, maybe the Lithium battery. So put the original back in. Nothing again just cracking over but not starting So thought I would leave the bike with the original battery on the optimate until after work today. Bike battery fully charged. Still just cracking over. Kill switch checked twice. fuses checked 3 times. fuel in the bike, only thing I have done is to fit the faring. I have no touched the wiring etc... sounds like starting the bike with the kill switch off FFS well annoyed. any tips. I get the lights on turning the key, clicking from the under seat, unsure if I am missing a fuel pump noise. Does it normally do that? I can't remember
I'd check your kill switch again. Mine stuck the other week due, not sure why. With the ignition on flick it off and on again, the pump should prime and other bits and pieces do some diagnostic stuff so you should hear a load of clicks and noises. If not spraying some WD into the switch may help unstick it. Hopefully its something simple.
Yes you should hear the fuel pump prime the engine when the ignition comes on (assuming the immobiliser is off). Is the tilt sensor still sitting vertical in the new fairing?
what a total cock tilt switch you say. Must remember to fit that back on twat award no 2 Call me mod twat
Notice the lack of sarcasm in my post. You can repay me by buying me a pint on the Scotland trip, unless you're not going, in which case you can have that one for free :-D
I got the wife, got her to hold the tilt sensor and the bike started straight away. left her to told ddaid tilt sensor for a few mins while the bike warmed up In other words as soon as I read "tilt Sensor2 I THOUGHT, BALLS. and the bike started
haha been there done that, thats how I found out what the tilt sensor looked like when I found the big arrow on it saying this way up facing the ground!! horrible when that panic sets in thinking ive f**ked it
It's good to know that your engine will cut out in a spill though. Could save more damage to the bike and even the engine if the casings are damaged. That should answer your question too Hudson.
