I used to have shorties on my 600F. Went with full length ASV's on the Blade and I am very happy with them.
i know people that have for the same reason as you.. i haven't personally.. as i prefer longer levers
I didn't like the 2 fingers being fixed together with or without short levers so i cut them anyway.. many will probably disagree with this as the 2 fingures being strapped together is a safety thing but i would rather be comfortable when riding than worry about my little finger. When i was knocked of 10 years ago i had normal leather gloves on and was fully armored and had full leathers on and it was only my hands that made it out un damaged lol!!! with regards to the short levers i have the same dilema and can't decide whether to get them or stick with oe levers but from what i gather from riders i have spoke to some love them some hate them, but all will agree shortys are great for the track
I'm not a fan of shorties myself; they look good but the feel isn't as good & more force is required due to the shorter lever (I think - unless the pivot point allows for this?). I fitted a set to my R6 & took it around Oulton. It was only he second lap & I was still asleep but went for a little comfort dab of the brake lever going into Island Bend & missed the lever (I seem to ride with my hands nearer the ends of the bars). No drama but it distracted me enough to run off; its a bit pathetic really! Click to snigger....
This is something I've debated for a while. Rightly or wrongly, for years I've covered the brake with middle and index finger while riding around town. Subconsciously, my hand just settles there. If I force myself to use all four fingers to brake I get a bit too much force compensation. I know it's just about re-learning the feel but I do often consider a shorty brake lever just to legitimise the trait.
