Well, I took off my rear pegs......bitch of a job especially when you drop a bolt down the inside of the bike. Took me ages to find it then popped it all back together again. Stripped the front brakes down and gave them a thorough cleaning as they seemed to be binding after just changing the pads. Still binding slightly but I'm putting that down to leaving it standing over the winter and needing to bed the new ones in. Gave her a bit of a polish and she's ready to go.
So, next job, check out my helmet. Picked it up and looked inside..............AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! Some fecking mouse has chewed the lining and tried to make a nest of it!!!:eek::eek: I can still wear it but the thought of mouse poo trickling down my neck :mad: Not ready for a new one yet so I'll have to go online to see if I can buy a replacement lining.............Mad as a wasp I was!!

    Where to start.
Those who know me and my bike know that since buying my 2006 fireblade in red and black i have kept it mint, in fact it doen't look like it's ever been used.
I have found my self in the past couple of years riding a bit more careful so not to risk wrecking the fairing if i dropped her.
At the end of last season i had a hm quickshifter fitted. This reminded me how much i enjoy riding to the limit. So i decided to make some changes as reccomened by other 1000rr members.

Firstly I have removed all the origanal fairing and replaced with all black oe fairing. this giving me the new bike feel and protects the origanal fairing if anything went wrong " hopefully not though!!!".
    Also i have purchased
    A full akro race exhaust,
A power commander, and o2 eliminator
I will be replacing the air filters with K&N Filter,
I will be having the bike remapped and tuned to hopefully maximize the bike perfomance.

So all in all i'm hoping for a improved ride but keeping the same gorgeous bike

Just give it a wipe all over underside with Wonderwipes and yet another quick blast of Silicone and also a sqirt of SP90 down the clutch cable dont know if it helps but it makes me feel better .I noticed Si had a slightly rusty looking exhaust (although not rusty) when i was checking out his rad cover but although mine has only done a third of his miles i have had two winters and the same view of my exhaust is like mint so i put this down to a wash ,dry, wipe with the wonder wipes, and a quick blast of the Putoline, i go right under on my back and do the lot only takes about ten minutes for the full hit including painting some on with a small brush the fork nuts and the brake caliper nuts ect. It looks mean as hell in this shot.

MOT'd the bike, she sailed through with no advisories.

Time to fit the new indicators now.

Wow ... earwigs ... feckin viscious bastards they are, you were lucky to come out alive! Seriously some have sodding great big pinchers on them and when you tread on them they don't die, you have to tear them in half.... yeah, I hate Earwigs.... !

Over the last few days I have removed the track fairing as it's finished fitting and painting. fitted the OE clock mount and fitted new Osram H7 bulbs to the lights. And re fitted the nose to the bike.

ready for going on the road soon. New Evo tech tail tidy has been ordered. I just need to get some bits once my DT catalog comes. Such as the heat tape for the tracking fairing. then most of my winter mods will be complete and ready for the spring

Rang the dealership to try and find out when they would be delivering the 'blade (05) ... looks like it might be weekend.
