If it looks anything like that new ugly cbr600 they can keep it..lt has defo got to have more bhp.The other brands are running away with the horsepower figures but still have trouble with the blade upto 120mph anyhow.Gizmos I will have one without thanks.
me to, yamaha have already approached BSB about entering an 1100/1150cc triple into the series, dont know the outcome but wouldn`t be surprised if they allow it.. Gonna sound nice but I wont be buying one anytime time soon if its anything like the 14B thats for sure..
Jimbo I am with you to a certain point, but you are forgetting I am fifty years old and been ridding bikes since I was 16. All be it few years divorce enforced sabbatical. 50cc, 250, 400, 600, 750, 900 and finally a few blades then my current 2011 abs blade. I get it. But if the technology is available I would rather have it then lying on my saggy arse in the ambulance thinking ‘Bollocks, you know what, I wish I had taken the traction control model’. Just my opinion on the subject.
Guys lets face it ! Everybody wants the HP4, but only a few can afford it. Even so it's limited, there will be another "limited version" and again and again. If Honda doesn't do the electronics like the BMW or Kawasaki, they will end up like Suzuki, once the star of the Supersport Division, now an old style rotten bike, nobody wants to buy ( and of course, there is a "limited" version as well ). The Blade is almost unchanged since 2008, except the price. The BMW S1000RR has a starting price from £13,655.00 including Race ABS, Gear Shift Assist and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as Standard ! Honda Fireblade ABS Version £12,000. If Honda will come up with something like the HP4, it will be definitely in the same price range.
I've said it the very first time I seen the BM. I could not buy 1 with the way they look with its asymmetric design. 1 side totally different to the other and even the lights look odd. (dont get me wrong I've no doubt it would be great to ride) It may just be my engineering background telling me it's just not right, but either way it would bug the tits out of me.
Not going to happen mate. There is already spy shots of the new R1 in late development and it's a 4 pot. If I can remember where I seen it I'll post up the pics. It also has a side mounted exhaust very much like the blade.
Mcn had some new R1 'spy' pics two weeks ago Colin. Not very detailed, they reckoned the fairings were more R6?
Yea seen those and agree that looks like a R6 I may be wrong about the R1 (I hope I am so that things get stirred up a bit) but I would'nt be surprised if the R1 still remained a 4 pot. I would be less surprised if the R6 became a 675 Triple.
And I would be at the front of the queue assuming I haven’t already defected and brought a Panigale buy then.
I rode a MK1 BMW S1000rr in the Scottish Borders and it felt gutless till you really got the revs sky high - jumping back on my Blade it just had more 'shove' where you wanted it for overtaking. I've 'ridden alongside' a BMW in a 50 to 180 mph roll on test in top gear, at 180 the BMW was maybe 15m ahead - and both bikes had full ventura luggage kit on - in certain gears (we did lots of test coz we were bored in Germany) the BMW would romp ahead, in others the Blade was ahead. At least the blade don't look like a parts bin special with a headlight from one shed and another found on the scrap heap.... Plus the servicing is mega money at BMW dealers
Dear Mr Honda, do what the hell you like with it, just attatch the footpegs to the outside of the subframe please
That's it mate, not every does... I for one don't!! Rather spend my money on a duke, mv or Aprillia...
Guy in the sandwich shop we frequent 'ex 1980's TT pilot' was raving about them Jimbo. So on his say so off I went and bought a copy. I felt like I'd been mugged. He said what do you reckon? I said I reckon you owe me £1.99 ya Basta
Which is totally cool, just goes against why I ride a bike.... But then it'd be boring if we thought the same!
Basically all they were saying was its 600 size (hence the fairings) but still an il4... Still looks like a major overhaul though.
not sure what you mean mate!? although i do wish they done a 1200 triple! how amazing a bike would that be...
