I was think ahead to when the bikes got it's feet up through the worst of the winter really. A month or so back I read a recommendation for a battery charger/condtioner and they said it was head and shoulders above what all the other models/brands offered. The thing is I can't remember where I read it, it was either MCN or a bike mag so I can't find out which make and model it was! Anyone have any ideas or recommendations for me
Cheers just had a look, they're quite reasonably priced too. I don't think it was the one they were recommending tho.
I haven't got a clue how it works, mind. The instructions may as well be in Latin. I've got the permanent connection cable wired straight onto the battery. Just ride the bike in and plug it straight onto the charger. I did end up dragging it across the garage one day and it started making an awful noise. I emailed tec-mate in Belgium on a Sunday and they got back to me in about 20 minutes, falling over themselves to help me sort it. That goes a long way with me.
Yup same here .. Optimate with hard wire onto battery .. although I don't need it much since fitting the LiPo
Same as in the smart phones LithiumNanoPhosphate .. totally unnecessary cost wise but I'm on a weight saving exercise and its over half the weight .. and whereas the standard battery would die after three weeks without charge this one still has loads of kick
That sounds like it could be handy, a couple of times i've been doing something to the bike and left the ignition on so the daytime running lights were also on and then when I realize go to start the damned thing there's not enough juice to spin it over fast enough to start! It doesn't even have to be that long either!
Well it looks like everyones agreed on the Optimate 4, I don't think I've ever had such a definitive answer.
Yeah, I've got an Acumen alarm and a Tracker fitted on mine but left the Tracker to die as it drained the battery in 5 days without riding. :-/ Not heard of these LiPo batteries though. anyone got a link? and can you not recharge them with an Optimate?
Optimate 4 here too. Plus if you lick the + wire when it's on, you get a lovely kick of electrickery down your toungee. Laaaverly.
