This could well be a silly question....... I always upgrade my brake lines to stainless braided. This is the first bike i have had with ABS fitted. Anything different or any issues with this upgrade on ABS models?
Yep you have to get more pipe work for the abs side of the system. I did see someplace that full system bleeding is hard with the abs. I thinks HEL do the full system for ABS bikes
Got mine for 100 notes off ebay HEL guess the guy bought em and thought fook that haha! Easy to do just normal bleed ing a bit of thinking and modding jobs a gd un
iv got a set of hel lines for the abs fireblade front and back new in black with gold ends !! im in no rush sellin them so there here if any one wants them ! front ones was fitted but only for a week took them off back ones not used ! got loads of abs stuff im not usein my bike was abs the brakes was good cant foult them but i just got bored with the abs so took the lot off
I usually 'upgrade' my lines with HEL at some point. My current ABS brakes are just fine so I'm probably not going to bother with this bike, but I did wonder if it was worth doing ar all as an upgrade. I know they should be changed when the OEM age & are often changed for better looking items, but on the ABS bike, will the ECU allow a 'performace' upgrade. I understand all the braking goes through the ECU & its this which decides how much braking force you are going to get. I guess the braided lines will send a more accurate signal to the servo, but the ECU will still only give you what it thinks is required. So is there any point? Just wondered.
