If any of you are interested. I purchased a set of H.I.D lights for the bike. I was concerned about hiding the Ballasts and igniters, as on the Blade, there isn't much room So, after scouring the net i bought some 1m extension leads for the Ballasts AND bulbs. Hopefully, i can hide the kit underneath the seat/tank area.
Just a heads up if if you can't find anywhere neat and out of sight for the ballasts and igniters.

What you need is the kit where you get the ultra slim ballast that has the built in igniotor easy to fit then thats what i have .My ballast is mounted under the headlights out of view, I looked at extending the leads but couldn't find any long enough! I assume your gonna mount them under the seat?

    I want these really! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kynt3kXau60&playnext=1&list=PL8C09FC5CA325C559&feature=results_main
Not cheap looking at about £800 all in but would be pretty unique in the UK! Block is in california and im goingh there on holiday in September and the guy has said if I bring cash dollars he will do them cheaper!

I have a kit like this ebay item 360570811274 the ignitor is built into the ballast :)

Mines lasted 3 bikes and anout 12000 miles and still going, before someone question "cheap chinise rubbish"!!

9 rides out of 10 I'm told there is a bulb out, it really drives me mad, I want to get some propper headlights done but need to find a decent 2nd light first

So where does everyone fit their ballasts?
Thinking of getting that £20 kit from china and running both lights.

I love to tell people they have a bulb out.....lol

New Ultra slim (no igniter too) ballasts are coming out slowly, half the size of the old slim ballasts....

Also they do an R ver of the capsules so for example H7R will reduce glare to oncoming drivers as the capsule has a blanked out section for reflector type headlamps unlike mag style headlamps that run a H7...

I'd love to have this done but i don't feel confident enought to try it myself and i'm really not sure what I need.

Wouldn't it be great if someone more mechanically minded offered this as a service here...

    Kinda like,

Hi, I'm xyz, here's my location, give me x amount of wonga, here's yer bike back with full HID's etc... Anyone thought of that, I'd be interested and willing to pay the going rate...

One thing niggling me though, I have been told these are an MOT failure.? I'm looking at the device posted here somewhere on using a percentage of the high beam so you get twin headlights on normal, but I'd much prefer the HIDs....

Yes Paul, that would be nice and I'll be working on it just as soon as I've fitted a lead for my 'Optimate' charger on to my new bike and scraped some cash together to buy one of these Front Head Light Lamp Headlight Headlamp Clear 2008-2012 09 10 HONDA CBR 1000 RR | eBay to set up on a bench and start experimenting with modified bulbs.
Idealy you need to be able to just quickly(?) swop back to the original set-up to get thru the MOT so unless you've got a complete OE H/lite module put aside to cope with the test, converting to a projector set up is not the answer. Watch this space!
    Nick.

I'm not great with this kind of thing either but if you wanted to give it a go I'm only up the road, I'm sure we could bodge it between us lol

Well I've had a good look at the reflectors and they are diferent. Makes sense realy what with both bulbs being H7s. So no joy there as far as two dip/two heads is concerned. If you want to get that arrangment it looks like having to deal with that American bloke that wants an arm+leg for a projector set-up.:(

I'm still tempted to try to do-it-meself by buying this lot tho.....

Front Head Light Lamp Headlight Headlamp Clear 2008-2012 09 10 HONDA CBR 1000 RR | eBay

2.5" MOTORCYCLE BI-XENON HID KIT Angel Eye Projector Lens Universal Slim Ballast | eBay (X2)

Xenon HID Headlight Kit EXTENSION LEADS WIRES 100cm 1m | eBay (x2?)

And maybe a couple of these. The price is mis-posted (I hope!)

HID MOTORCYCLE CONVERSION KIT H4 HI/LO 6000K*BEST KIT** | eBay

200 beer tokens shud cover it.
