Very useful info mate. If my bid falls through on the catridges I'll give him a call.

    Thanks.

Just for the rec Gubellini are well known in suss and dampers, they also make "Ducati" branded performance parts too... D-Kyle is a top bloke (company) I must say as they have trusted me with £££££'s (whole fork sets) of goods before with no payment, what can you say! :)

Heard nothing but good things about Dan Kyle and I bought an Ohlins shock and linkage from them for my SP2 and as you say the service was first class.

Painted the rotors for the front discs to match the wheels, serviced and cleaned the brakes.

Tomorrow I'll be fitting a new undertray, bleeding the clutch and putting the wheels and discs back on. Also the cartridges for the forks arrived today so I'll see about getting the forks sent away to get set up. I'll post up some pictures tomorrow once it's all back together.

Today was meant to be a quick couple of hours in the garage to get the SP1 completely finished.

As always though something tends to decide otherwise. First up I re-fitted the brake discs to the front wheels after spraying them yesterday. I'll need to order up some new bolts for these though as I found that the bolts I had set aside were not up to the job, and started chewing the hex heads as I was tightening them up to the right torque. I ended up fitting the old bolts temporarily until the new ones arrive.

Anyway here's a pic of the discs back on the wheels. Not a perfect match but way better than the black.

From there it was time to get rid of the old undertray that had lights on it that I'm sure must have came of an old MG or something. It really did the bike no favours, and dated it quite badly.
So I ordered a new undertray with a LED light, and ended up using LED indicators that I had set aside for the Blade, (feel bad about that, but the SP1 needed them more). Now this was meant to be an hours job, but ended up taking around 4 hours, with a good bit of fettling to get it to fit just right, and I also had to tidy up the wiring as it was a mess back there.

Here's a pic of the back end stripped down ready for the new undertray

And a couple of it now fitted

Just need to fit the new brake disc bolts, bleed the clutch, and fit a new soft link for the chain and it's done.

Bike looks real good, how it should..think the discs would look odd the same colour so IMO they look good! You've done a fine job with that bike!

    Thanks Arthur

With yourself and my mate for guidance it has made the project so much easier and I've loved every minute of it. Even the troublesome bits, as that is when you actually learn. I'm over the moon on how the bike has turned out so far and its great to see it all come together.

Oh and I forgot to add that I ordered up Watsen Design flush mount LED indicators for the front. Just need to wait upto 8 weeks for them to be made from solid ally.

I saw the Watsen's on a Repsol on here a while back. I'm sure it was your mate Dave's and wanted them ever since, but couldn't put them on my blade as they're in the mirrors. The fact that he colour matches it to your bike is a real bonus and they are also ultra bright.

A few more goodies on the bike over the next year and I'll have this bike exactly as I want it. ISR's are top of my list along with getting the front suspension sorted with the cartridges.

Yeah Dave has them, also another mate of mine on another Repsol rr7, you will be SHOCKED how bright those 5W SMLEDs are, at night they light up the whole road and in sun light you still can't look at them!

Every review I've read about them is good, and they really are proper flush mount, unlike a few that I have looked at that stick out like gecko eyes.

Oh and great choice on the rear light as that's the only thing on those bikes that look awful! They just look like an after thought! The led one you have chosen looks perfect

Nice work Colin looks great especially the brake disc colour coding, very cool.

Been looking at those undertrays myself, how to you mount the number plate and indicators ? Did you make a separate bracket yourself as I dont see any supplied with the undertrays I have seen for sale.

I used the 1 that came with the bike and modified it to suit. I'll take some pics of the number plate holder and see if I can find who makes it. All I had to do is drill 2 holes through the lip that is moulded into the undertray for that reason.
