Hi guys Not been able to keep up with things on here recently due to excessive workload but thought I'd share my upgrades to bike and also mention a possible opportunity..... So although working hard I've managed to squeeze a few interesting upgrades in over the winter and looking forward to a few track days and general ride outs this year. Upgrades- Fitted short black and gold pazzo levers (found the ASV uncomfortable on RR7 due to angular design) Fitted Renthal sticky grips - Like the extra grip especially with big winter gloves on! Fitted Michelin 2cts - I love them! Great in all conditions and fantastic for fast cornering with loads of life left on centre despite lots of high speed runs Fitted Dynojet PCV and K&N filter - local garage said 3hrs labour and it took me 75mins with a slight hand from my female neighbour who funnily enough had smaller hands than me to help feed through wiring loom. Only running downloaded map for exhaust currently. Difference to bike is AMAZING!!!! Could write an essay on how much better all round it is now! Fitted Philips Xtreme vision bulbs - helped reduce the yellow look of standard light against wing mirror lights (£19.75 on amazon for pair) Dianese leathers and back protector - That's just the poser in me trying to look cool EDZ thermafit top and bottoms - Awesome for warm or cold weather but you look like catwoman with nothing else on prancing around the house... (50quid new from eBay) Bits to follow shortly- Rolling road remap session at BSD in Peterboro (160quid) DID gold X-ring chain and Renthal sprocket (dropping tooth on front) Yoshi or Akky to replace TaylorMade exhaust so I can pass a sound test at track days Custom rear sets in black (Gilles?) So that's all the bike stuff done now the possible opportunity..... I posted a while back that my brother (younger) has a Rossi replica big bang R1 with almost every extra available. Now it's as mint as a bike gets and all he does is polish it all the time. Since fitting the PCV to the bike plus other bits my brother has taken a bit of a fancy to it after a few rides recently and would consider a p/x for a Repsol blade. Or he may just sell it and get a Repsol. Anyways it's an amazing bike if you haven't ridden one before and if he's going to sell it I would want to give you guys a chance first before he considers advertising it. He's very attached to it so may take a few more rides on mine before he can think of letting it go. So if anyone is interested or wants to know more then feel free to ask and hope this wasn't a mammoth waste of time to read
Some very nice mods you have done there. i also have a pcv with a custom map waiting to be fitted so i hope i notice a big differance like you
The difference with the PCV with just one of the downloaded maps is astounding!!! Totally brings the blade up to big bang R1 style throttle response
Guys seriously fit the PCV ASAP!! If you have an exhaust it makes even more difference as I had lost a little response with my GP style one. Don't pay a garage 3hrs labour to fit. I have no real mechanical skills and did a lovely job in just over an hour it's really easy! Oh and need to add Gipro gear indicator to mod list as I've just bought one from Tony2441 on here
I have watched a video of it on you tube and considering i struggled doing a bloody oil change i think even i could do it in 1hr or maybe less
I've never done an oil change and don't know how. So it really is that easy! Just need a block of wood to wedge tank up on pivot otherwise it's just routing of loom through tail unit, down left side and under tank and up onto injector wiring blocks. Was so surprised how easy it was. The loom even has the battery connection wire sat at perfect point of loom to line up with battery. Felt like a MotoGP mechanic for the rest of the day lol
Air filter looks complicated but is also super easy you just need to remember to remove the rubber o ring on air box so the brass bracket can slot in which comes with filter simples
