    How much difference does a power commander and custom map really make? Does it change the way the bike rides in terms of smoothness and acceleration etc.. Also how much can i expect to pay for a custom map and where is good to go in yorkshire?

    Where do you download the maps could do with seeing if they have one for my exhaust..

    Has anyone done the PCV install on the blade? Mine's a 2010

    Yes mate did it last week with the K&N filter and the whole lot took 75mins! Really straightforward job and defo worth doing yourself!

    Just make sure you have a bit of wood to wedge the tank up on its pivot.

    Yeah cool, was probably just going to remove the tank. I've watched the video on youtube of the install briefly but as part of that there is also steps mentioned about the IRC (?) and the auto tune for the PCV. It seemed as though the PCV was the easiest part of the install though. Do you then just plug the PCV into a computer? I dont have a laptop only desktop so I'm guessin it would be wise to download the map first and then fit rather than try and ride my motorbike up the apples and pears?? :)

    Yes put map onto PCV via desktop before installing or you are bringing your bike into the house for a ride :D

    I dont have any of the other add ons so was simple for me. There are instructions that come with the kit that are easy to follow but basically you-

    Take off both seats
    Take of tank cover
    Unscrew and pivot tank upwards wedging with wood.
    Feed plugs from tail through left side of bike and under tank up to injector connectors. Then you switch 1st and 4th and other 2 plugs just below.
    Attach connector to battery
    Put back together

    I had already fitted O2 eliminator for my Taylormade Gp exhaust but that is found down under tank sometimes you can locate it looking up from left rearset. If you dont have the fitting instructions let me know and I will try to PDF them and send over

    its a piece of piss to fit, an hour max and that will be you
    studying the destruction's.
    just remember when you drop the tank again to feed the overflow
    pipe back round the front of the sprocket cover if it pulls out like
    mine did.

    Have any of you got a noticeable difference from slip on with power commander??

    Not done one on the Blade (yet), but had one fitted to a CB1000r, sooooo much more mid range torque and smoother low down. Peak HP only increased by several ponies. Only downside was much more thirsty, but if that was an issue I would have bought a moped.

    Yeah, since I installed the M4 GP I've only been getting 90-100 miles to a tank so was hoping the PCV might sort that out! It's definately running way rich spitting fuel out the back.

    Don't forgot PCV are maps are generally created for max power at all revs which normally means reduced MPG than stock. I fitted an autotune and created a commuting map to return have OEM type MPG.

    I noticed really big power gains with mine.
    Had yoshi slip on no baffle and free flowing air filter.
    Before pc it just about wheelied when you gave it full
    Throttle in first, now it throws he front wheel Skywards
    Up to forth gear when you send it on a little.

    Back in 05 when I bought mine, I ran it standard for a couple of months then ran it on the dyno as standard before fitting YoshiRS5 plus PC then ran it again to give me an overlap to compare. It worked out well with a really linear power curve and reasonable gains. To be honest I really couldn't tell if there was more power but the back to back dyno readings helped satisfy myself that I'd fitted it correctly and it wasn't going to self destruct thru running lean/rich or whatever.
    I really recommend running it on the dyno first.

    You could ask Padgetts in Batley, Leeds to set it up - they spent a load of time on John's new Superstock bike to set it up, rolled in my shed of a blade with nothing bar a K&N filter only to see my 50k mile bike make more ponies than his brand new 2012 Superstock bike with everything thrown at it possible - other than thousands of miles to bed and run it in.

    there was less gains when I had my RR5 but the RR9 was night and day.
    now I cant comment on if this was because the yoshi had slightly
    lost power over the standard can as it was on when I bought it but
    when I first rode it I was disappointed at how tame the power delivery was.
    after fitting it the bike was a hell of a lot more fun to ride.
