Well the snow is gradually melting away....took the time to fit a HM quickshifter which had been on my Suzuki. What an absolute pain in the ass that was to do, not fitting, that was easy, but the whole thing of getting access to the spark plugs, my view is that Honda obviously don't want you to change those buggers until they have done a zillion miles, SO DON'T. Whoever designed the 2012/13 fairings should be shot i managed to snap one small lug...aaaaahhhhhhh. Trying to reconnect the various pipes under the air box, well the Japanese must have tiny bloody hands to re fit them that's all that i can say. But things are back on the bike , bike started and no fuel leaks, that little fuel connector , how difficult is that to get off. Just got to put the tank cover back and put fairing lowers on. Oh I fitted the evotech rad guard whilst I have fairing sides off. That went on pretty ok. All in all a day of much frustration but satisfaction at the end when I see what i have done and saved a few quid. I have put The hm control unit under the rear seat out of view , just took my time deciding which way to run the cables. Now for a cool beer:D

I also fitted my hm quickshifter along with pcv and yoshi r-77.
Not had chance to test it yet as roads are covered in snow. A little bit worried though as the yoshi is spitting flames and on the over run it sounds like a bloody twin, hopefully i get a test run tomorrow to see if its running properly or if i have fooooked it up

I'm guessing it involved the unzipping of ones fly and some hot exhaust action?

Well as it turns out im not capable of fitting a hm shifter and a pcv. first it wouldnt start because of a flat battery, then when it finally had enough life in it to go for a run i soon found out i had transformed by inline 4 into a parallel twin.

Its booked into the garage tomorrow so a proper mechanic can fix it

Where did you conect the injector plugs mate?
Only reason I ask is presuming its like the RR5, you have one set of injectors on top of air box and then another 4 under the tank. I nearly plugged mine into the top ones even after reading the instructions over and over about 5 times. I suddenly noticed that they go on the lower ones

You haven't done that have you?

No martin they are all connected in the correct places. the lad who helped me knows his stuff so its a little worrying its gone wrong. I personally think the problem is from when i fitted the hm loom to the coils as it was such a pain to get at and no matter how hard i pushed them back on i couldnt hear that click noise when i pushed them on, but i also couldnt pull them back off so god knows what has happened.

Hi fez, dumb question but have you got the correct loom for the Honda. As u know I was putting my quickshifter on at the same time as you and I had taken mine off my trusty
Suzuki gsxr1000 k2 . The hm plus loom does both suzuki and Honda and mine went in without any problem with a click. Getting to them was a real pain in the ass though. Hopefully no damage done. I can see why my honda dealer said that some people query the labour cost .

Lol my HIDs are just bizarre, the bulbs sit where I have circled in the picture as you know but theres a massive burst of light on each one from the high side of the light as you can see... I can't explain it but it looks mean as fook :)

Agreed cant understand that, but yes looks the biz. You might blind someone from that spread of light using reflector lens but at least you'll get noticed lol
