I have no idea tbh, i know nearly all dymag wheels can be transferred to any other bike with only spacers required but not sure if galespeed are tge same
i think i heard that the rear wheel is not fiting to a 08 but a question to gallespeed directly must solve the enquire
Yeh i was thinking i could get them powder coated but its probably not worth the extra expense. i will just have to wait untill a nice white pair appear
Yeh and spacers and what ever else is required and tbh im not really in love with them. if they were dymag, marchesini or pvm i would have been much more interested
Rear wheel fit, front doesn't. Galespeed will not sell spare parts required to make the wheel fit due to the torqued down spacer on the front wheel. I was told to ship my front wheel to Japan to get it re-fitted with the spacer required for the discs of the 08. Notice that the front hub says 'do not dis-assemble'. Their mails show they take it seriously. That's my experience at least when I went from '06 to '08.
What do you mean it doesn't fit. Most things can easily be modified so that they do fit. Take some pix and measurements and explain what you mean???
Front wheel is not the same size on SC57 compared to SC59. The same reason you cannot use original wheels from SC57 to SC59. I just relayed the information I got from Galespeed, since I wanted to take my wheels over to my SC59. Their direct message said 'we can modify the wheel, we need it here to modify it'. Not really the cheap solution... You can modify the original SC57 wheel to fit the SC59, but machining the wheel takes away strength of the wheel which is borderline stupid....
Depends which part you machine. You still haven,t said what work needs doing? I was told a wheel wouldn,t fit my Blade, so I made adaptors for it, and it works perfectly. I am not stupid, just inventive and an engineer!!!
The rr8+ forks are 10mm closer together afaik spacers I think are the same, hub offset is the problem.. Galespeed have a spider design for the disc carrier for want of a better word and there is not much meat for the bolts taking 5mm off each side could compromise the hub, with mine there is so little meat I'd fear it could be a problem, Ive never taken the hub apart as per the engraved writing and it does look like removing it could give some alinement problems if you want to reassemble it, it's truly an odd design and unknown to me what's in it, you think not much but with near a grand a wheel Ive not had the balls to remove it...!
Exactly. I got a mail directly from Galespeed Japan saying I certainly should refrain from taking apart the hub. I am an Engineer myself. I looked in to modifying the hub, but no way I was ruining the front by disassembly or taking the value out of the wheels by modifying to destruction - not to mention braking down from vmax on track with a front wheel out of balance... No. I didn't look into going with other discs than the original though.
