How y'all I fitted one of these fairing blanks to cover the link pipe of the Akra but ..... am I right in thinking that the bottom left clip can't clip to the pipe itself? I figured from the useless A6 diagram ... nothing (it's sh*t) Lots of tinkering and fiddling and I figured the top point attaches to the rear-most fairing mount and the bottom right has a hanger which mounts to an engine/sump nut. I get that the link pipes are different between Akra and LV, but am I right in thinking that the bottom left mount will be unattached when used with an Akra? Seems sturdy enough as it is. May flap a bit when you get to triple figures
Yes mate it does fit onto the exhaust link pipe, have a nosey here, might help. http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/4597.htm
Aha ... bugger I didn't think the clip/bolt was big enough to reach round. Will have a go again in the week once my hands have healed up a bit
it is a right pain, took me ages to realise the destructions were an arse about tit view.took me that long I managed to make a time lapse of it lol
Yea. The instructions are from the rear view of the plate and there's a picture of it in place.... But you can't see how it's mounted because it's covering everything. All they need to do is show a photo of behind the blank so you can see how it's mounted Bl**dy stupid instructions... :banghead:
Finally got it sussed..... It seems the Akra link pipe is slightly oval in shape. To fit it you have to completely remove the exhaust and link pipe from the bike. Stand over it swearing a bit Fit the clamp with the pinch part facing to the back ... so the bolt is 90 degrees to the horizon (when fitted) You'd think the seam weld at the back of the exhaust would prevent it pinching, but it doesn't. Nip it in and re-fit the link pipe, exhaust and spring clips Stand over it swearing a bit more. Thanks to Lee who put the link further up this post as the images in there kinda show you what it should look like.
