Howdy I fitted my Akra and PCV last night, but with the ignition on I'm getting the engine warning light flash in an odd pattern. It starts and seems to run fine .... although it now sounds aaaaaawesome I'm sure I returned the servo wheel back to where it was(ish) when I removed the stock pipe and I removed the Lambda sensor .... although I suspect this may what the light's all about? Engine Warning Light: Questions I have are: With the exhaust servo cable removed and the wheel turned back - should it still be making a small noise on ignition (about 1/10 what it used to)? Do I need to hook up the Lambda sensor even though I'm now using a PCV? If so, are there disadvantages in using the stock Lambda and how do I fit the PCV one if I need it (Autotune module maybe?)
Here's the bike starting. I ran it once before this, but now it's making a mini squeek from the exhaust flapper solinoid .... thingy
/\/\/\ i would say the same as colin if you have removed the sensor from the exhaust you need the o2 eliminator. just put the sensor back in for now untill you get 1 if this is the problem
just looking at the fault codes i cant seem to find it 2 long+3 short blips. looking at the mileage it's a new bike?(12/13?) maybe theres new codes now. if the servo is still there that shouldn't flag up a code, but the lamba sensor might. reset the fault codes, and see if that stops it. if you dot know how, post up and i'll tell you, cant be arsed typing it out if i dont need too
I thought them Akra had a port for the lambda sensor, usually they are capped off with a 17mm bolt that you need to remove. for fitting the O2 eliminator you just plug it in up at the plug on the left side under the riders seat then remove the lambda sensor and cap the hole or just leave it in place.
It's a 2010, so new(ish). 54.4 miles since last top-up of petrol It would be great if you could tell us how (or a link to another thread) - in case someone else has something like this and finds this thread when searching for answers Yup it has a bolt in place that's lockwired to the spring clip doodah. I could hook the lambda sensor back in, but if it's no longer needed (or can cause problems?) then it may be worth leaving it off. I've just ordered the O2 eliminator (#76423024 for 08-11) from SportsBikeShop - should be here midweek
On a side note - It's really stuupid that the instructions supplied with the PCV are in Black&White This was a useful video showing how to install the PVC
And this was the video showing how to swap out the exhaust. Looks like the USA don't have/need O2 eliminators?
if you have one ordered then just leave it off.it controls below 3k rpm and up to 1/4 throttle so with the eliminator this allows the PC to have full control over the fuel map.
