Hi everyone I am going down the PCV route and wanted to know from those who have already done this is did you just get the PCV or PCV plus map switch O2 eliminator ect. What I am really asking is are these extras a must or can I just get by with the PCV on it's own,oh and are they easy to fit. I have fitted an akro slip on complete with baffle as it's bloody noisy without but the fuelling isn't exactly smooth is it so hopefully this will go once fitted.
I got the PCV and o2 eliminator, my right hand is my map switch lol the PC will help a lot but a custom map makes it a hell of a lot better, but saying that I borrowed a custom map from a same spec bike and its doing me until I have the cash to get my own custom map done.
Lol who did you blag to share the wealth? Im getting my PCV tomorrow is a custom one always better than one from the website?
The hardest part about fitting is routing the plugs through the wee hole in the seat unit. The rest is easy. I have the Akra too (baffle out) and have the matching map installed on the PCV. It seems to run fine, but it's off to be mapped this weekend.
Thanks for the replies again PCV is now ordered and will soon be winging it's way to me got it for £232.46,best get the heating on in the garage.
another forum where im admin I asked did anyone have a map they would share an hey presto a owner with a 09 hrc with the same can and filter offered me his custom map.
All engines are slightly different which is why custom maps are so good. Just because you use a map from another bike that's been custom done on a dyno don't mean it'll run flawlessly on your bike even if it's the same model and age etc.
And if your "mates" bike is rich and the dyno opp leans it right off and your bike is also lean you will now have a super lean bike, I'd look at the values on the map and check that none are "wild" all the maps on the site are checked to be sure that they will be in the ball park, the whole idea of a PCV is to map your bike, other wise why bother? Yes it will be closer than no PCV with an exhaust etc but think about this, 10k superbike and some quit only a few more quid from perfection.. Just my view....lol Oh and that video, I had to skip as I'd fall asleep BUT I did not see him disable the air induction system so Autotune will NOT map correctly..
yes I do know this but the map will be closer than the generic all leo vince map on the site and will do me until I get a custom one.
yeah I did give it a look over before I loaded it, I also got his before and after map graph so |I could se if it was running off before took a loan of his map. as said this is only until I get a custom map done so its not going to get hundreds of miles use
For some reason the install manual from Dynojet was a B&W print.... Never good when you're dealing with coloured wires
This might be a daft question but if you disconnect the battery does the PC5 lose its memory and the downloaded map?
