I've been thinking of buying a new set of leathers for this season. I'm looking for a 2 piece suit, not sure what make yet, though I like the RST's I have at the moment as they are decent enough and don't cost the planet.

Where do you guys recommend buying from, and what leathers do you recommend?

    Thanks.

Leathers unless custom made are like most things, what fits one person well is quite often not the case for the next as we are all our own funny shapes. Get to somewhere like infinity motorcyles and J&S etc and try different makes on to see what suits you best mate

I have just bought an RST one piece, I went to a shop a few miles away from me (The Two Wheel Centre in Mansfield) to make sure it fitted me, like you say for the money they seem good :)
I didn't want to spend a fortune on my first one piece, so bought the trackech Evo (£400)
you can get the Pro Series CPX-C for £570

They do seem to make good 2 piece ones that zip full 360, based on the trackech evo top and bottom and the pro top and evo bottom :)

I would a search online for your nearest shops :)

I can't fault the RST's mate. I've had mine for 3 years now and they really punch above they're weight.

Agreed Colin RST are a top brand and in my opinion Alpine Stars are living on past glory.

    Rst don't fit me anymore.
Had one of their first suits and it was good but the new track tec are a different cut.

My leathers of choice are Spidi. By far the most comfy and well fitting leathers I've ever tried.

And as for buying leathers I surf the old tinternet for the best price usually after trying them on in the shops.

Trying them in the shops is what I normally do before buying. Last time I went in J&S and tried them on, went home to check prices and then got them to price match.

I remember a write up in one of the magazines about a year ago that put them up against the bigger makes, and even they said they couldn't understand why there was such a price gap between the RST's and the better known brands.

These days a lot of stuff all gets made and comes from the same place, OK not exactly the same factory obviously but not a lot in it. Pakistan makes a lot of it.

Tried my 2 suits on in the shops ( BKS and arlen ness ) then got them off eBay less than half price with labels still on ,
Then take them to a lovely lady I know who alters them to fit perfect

I buy mine 2nd hand off fleabay. Only ever had Dainese because they were the first ones I bought and all 4 sets I've had fit me like a glove. I keep thinking about trying out a different brand but I suppose I think of the old adage, if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

I got my Alpinestars 2 piece from Slocombe's in London for £350. Pretty sure they do mail order. They shift a lot of gear. John's the chap to speak to. He's a top man.

Ive had RST jackets for years and have just bought a pair of the new RST leather trousers. You pretty much get what you pay for. Frankly in terms of where to go I would usually favour a local shop or regular haunt of yours or one someone else suggests, not so much because its local but if you know the place and trust the bike shop you cant go far wrong. I would steer clear of flashy bike supermarket places myself.
