.. when meeting some other bikers (especially with lower CC engine) the first thing you get is 'I can easily keep up with litre bikes'. This more than often can even come before the greeting. I didn't buy the Blade to prove a point or to be faster than the other guy, just deal with it.
In a word........insecurity Many people are insecure about their performance. Performance at work......performance in a car......performance on their bike.......performance in bed.
Ole rich says, I don't care what's faster and who has bigger chicken strips. I took a older friend out a few years ago and he was on his larger cc scooter lol. First thing he said was " this scooter is faster than many sports bikes from the line". After a few hours out he's never said that to me again lol

I use mine on a commute into London every morning, the number of scooters (especially european registered ones) that try it off the lights is just getting boring. Can't be bothered now, wasted way too much Bridgestone on them. I can imagine them bragging to their mates, hopefully it's helps them get through the day!
That's the thing, that sort of attitude has no place in these times. I always come up with a witty retort ( but hours laters normally in bed!) but think breath is wasted on these idiots!
In fairness, for the hard of thinking, it's a reasonable mistake to make. They see a 1 litre bike, they tag onto it while it's rider nips to the shops or commutes to work and think "What's all the fuss about?". If they then stay latched on when the litre geezer begins to press on, more power to their elbow, kudos. The main difference will be that while the big lad is enjoying a smoke with his elbow on the windowsill, the guy on the smaller bike is hanging in there with G forces rolling his socks down into his boots, still, a very credible situation. It's only when you step up again into the realm of "1 LITRE ONLY" that matey might get an unpleasant surprise, and then, well, that's what the Darwin Awards are for.
Insecurities seems to run thick through the biking community. It's just one big cock showing contest IMO. Who's got the biggest BHP who's got this and that, it seems to haunt some folks, seriously I couldn't give a shit what another person has or had, for me its all about the smile per mile! I've been passed by 600's 400's regular, I think a mobility scooter once anyway ill ride my litre bike how i choose, after all, it's me paying the finance every month, if they feel insecure because you got a bigger one? Don't let them bother you slick! Fuel the paranoia that breeds within their head, tell them as your leaving you'd have got to their houses shagged their bird and wiped your nob on the curtains before they turn up!
When I had my ZZR there was a certain smugness knowing that whatever greeted me at the traffic lights it was over .Ha! And ps GaryB have a quick look at your curtains "you never know"
How many good looking girls are on superbikes not many. Had a laugh at some black bike test students trying it on with a blonde milf taking her bike test.She wasn't having any of it,she passed and they were next.She said if you two pass I'll let both of you sit on my k10 gixxer but until you pass you two are little wanna be boys.I found it hilarious looking at them both with their mouths wide open.

I am kinda thick skinned and don't really care too much what other people say. If someone wants to be delusional it's their right and my right to think they are a dick. I have no doubts some people on a smaller cc bike can out ride me on my thou, Rossi, Lorenzo, Marquez to name a few lol and about a few more thousand unknown riders lol. If I cared I would have been a racer not a biker besides, no matter how good you are there is always someone better somewhere. Besides, a lot depends on what bike you have, what performance mods, set up etc etc as well as skill.................... Oh and whether or not you are prepared to risk your life proving you are a bigger dick than the other person.
To be honest I would be quicker on a 600 than I am on the blade but there isn't a 600 that looks like the blade and I bought it as I love the look, even on a 600 I'm not super fast. But my dad's bigger than your dad!
Only just started riding my thou so nowhere near as fast as I was on the 600 but the sound of a thou is what I love. Don't care if someone is faster than me as long as I've got a grin from ear to ear
