Finally got my blade at the weekend and love it, apart from the sketchy ride home in the wind and rain....

Actually spent some time cleaning her yesterday and putting her on the side stand, leans over fine but once the side stand touches down it then moves over some more. Had a look and the side stand is bent (not sure if its the design) and is wobbly which I'm thinking its not meant to be....

Is this a common thing, design, weird feature or do I need to be finding a new stand?

    Cheers

aprillia mille and tuono have a very dodgy stand on them. the 04-07 fireblade stand and bracket is a perfect fit for a replacement hence the lack of them available second hand.

It shouldnt be wobbly and shouldn't be too steep an angle either so you might want to check if its been dropped

I was wondering that but there are no other signs......that's why I was thinking been put on the stand a bit hard. Or someone fully sat on her in the showroom on the stand....

Anything I may have missed that would be an obvious sign?

Just checked mine..........yep..the same but I dont think its anything to worry about to be honest. All the Blades I,ve ever owned have always had a bit of movement in the sidestand,to the point where the stand makes contact with the surface and then skids accross maybe 10-15mm to a rest point, almost like it should do it.I suppose if there was no clearance then it could seize or become stiff.Perhaps someone with a brand spanking new Blade could grab hold of thier sidestand and see if theres any/too much side movement?.

Couldn't you tighten the pivot bolt a bit to make it less wobbly. Not too tight though as you want it to move freely.

Mine too. I've had mine from new and it's always done it. Still worrys me now every time I lean it on the stand but it's never collapsed on me yet. Oh oh!!! Is that tempting fate?
