Good turn out down my way Here are some pics Kicking my self i didn't take the GoPro but didn't think it would be as big as it was
Good man. Huge turn out down here too. I don't know what happened to 'inside lane only' and '45 mph' as many bikes were pootling about in the middle lane causing chaos as all the 4 wheelers stuffed themselves into one lane, one shunt was averted by a fag paper as the driver watched us and not the car infront. I don't think I got above 35mph all the way and was becoming a bit fixated on the temp guage by the time I peeled off.
We blocked all lanes down here , even the hard shoulder lol. cars where trying to join the M4 and bikes where stopping them at the on ramp.. Trust the welsh to go O.T.T lol
Good on you dan, big turn out at Durham services to, let's hope someones taken notice today eh. Bloody bureaucrats .
Well the coverahe on this welsh news was crap . 10 sec interview with an old biker saying he has been riding 50 years and knows what he is doing .. hopefully it will be on the full news tonight and tomorrow morning i was about 30 from the front of ours and when i looked in my mirror i could see a snake of single head lights as far as the eye could see It looked very impressive and i felt very proud to be apart of it
look forward to seeing that Si.. It wasnt till we was getting ready to hit the motorway and we where big numbers that i thought, Whee is my Go Pro ? next time
I wish I'd taken Mrs Ken with a camcorder now. The weather was evil all morning. It stopped raining about 11:00 but didn't look like drying up, then the sun came out and it started to dry up really quickly so I didn't leave until quite late, thinking most people would do the same. On the run up to the services there was a single Harley ahead and I thought 'at least there'll be two of us. Then on the roundabout entering we picked up another bike. Then as we came over the rise to the car park there was just this sea of bikes just rose up out of the ground, spectacular. But ain't motorways spooky at walking pace. It's a place you're not s'posed to be. OoooooooooOoooooooooooOooooooooooh!!!...........
The scariest part for me was pulling out of the services car park which kinda snakes down from a higher level. 4 bikes across and 1 foot gap in front and behind ment 1 slight lapse of concentration ment i would set of a domino affect lol. On the motorway all good,, we averaged 30 MPH for most of our 20 min run , i think mainly because the few crazy car drivers that muscled they're way between us where getting so wound up honking they're horns that the bikers in front where purposely going slower to wind them up.. I thoroughly enjoyed , Broke no laws and felt like part of a force not to be reckoned with. must have looked very impressive from the bridges which where lined with waving spectators
Yeah, at one point there was a Satan Slave on a real old school chopper at my 2 o'clock in the middle lane with a Volvo 4x4 right up his chuff, pushing him all the way. The Slave just kept going slower and slower but Volvo man refused to overtake, he just kept on pushing until eventually he was completely surrounded by bikes and slipped out of sight in my blind spot. I think they just absorbed him. We had a great police presence at the services and they pushed all the normal traffic out of the way for us to leave in as close as one lump as possible, so cheers for that guys, but then, if I was them, I'd have wanted us out of their hair soon as, too.
Yeah they where great with us also. They Blocked all entries to the roundabout at the start of the M4 so all of us got on the motorway uninterrupted by cars and then from what i was told at our second meeting place was that they followed the back of the group. Post up if you see any good new coverage Ken , There is bound to be a good report for us seeing as the hole of uk synced they're rides for 1.00 o clock and deffinitly caused hold ups across the nation , Perhaps they are unsure wether the powers that be want it being broadcasted incase it inspires larger movements at a later date
I recorded the local news but they believe the world ends at Plymouth so they only covered that ride out. They quoted the MEP responsible, don't remember his name, there's a surprise, as saying the whole thing was an over reaction. I peeled off the group one junction before the finish, about 2 miles short, because I fancied a blat home on my own, to give the fan a rest. LOL, so I missed out on the hog roast and pole dancers, but my sister was having a birthday party and there was cake. It would be good if all the members who took part posted their experience of the event. With pictures, else I'll get too bored. I didn't take many as I was tight on time and didn't stay at the end, but I'll do a 'dear diary'. Might not be until tomorrow night 'cos I'm trying to catch up with all the sport I've recorded this weekend.
[/QUOTE] Bit off topic but..... The black 'blade looks frickin amazing with the white number board! I would have been out on mine today had i not accidently headbutted a tree on friday night. Drunk jogging at 4am is a bad idea BTW.
Accidently headbutted a tree while drunk jogging?..... I'm sorry Dan but we've got to let him hijack to explain this one.
Yep, to save money on a taxi home i decided to have a little jog, then this arsehole tree just jumped out of nowhere.
